How do i remove tar..

any suggestions?? anything i can buy to remove this.. i was driving no the street trying to get past this semi that holds (what i think is tar)... well as i got close to it.. the material started falling off the side and hit my car.. i dint think much of it.. until i went to wash the car.. wen i try to clean it off.. it starts to smear and leaves a green stain.. ill have pictures up lateer if anyone wants it...

they looked like little clumpy black balls... i think its tar?

Have you checked out the Wash & Wax subforum? There is lots of good info there.

You can try bug and Tar remover found at your local auto stores.

the detailing dept at my acura dealer suggested gas line antifreeze will work perfectly, without damaging any paint/clearcoat/wax

don't forget that tar and bug remover is also wax remover -- you'll need to re-wax the affected area afterwards. not sure about the gas line antifreeze (which, btw, is identical to rubbing alcohol) suggestion

3M Bug & Tar remover, and definitely should be in Wash & Wax.
