I just think it's stupid how you can only roll "down" with FOB. Is there TSX GOD that knows how to make the "window up" work with FOB?

also, another quick question. Nav doesnt work in Canada? it says works for 48 lower states..

I had a G35 sedan and it was the same thing. I guess they figure once you drop the windows your going to get in the car. I believe in order to add another function you need another channel in the remote system.

Don't the windows have pinch protection that makes stop when something puts pressure on them?

I wouldn't risk trying to know if it does or not.

I'm thinkin' the logic of the remote window functions only has a "roll down" function because it addresses the need of people walking towards their car on a hot summer day.
A "roll up" function doesn't make a whole lot of sense from a design stand-point. When would you really need a remote roll-up? If you're leaving your car, you are a reach away from rolling up your windows from the armrest console before you get out of the car. There aren't very many situations where you need a remote roll-down. The only situation I can think of is if you walk away from your car not realizing that your windows are down and then doing a roll-up. That would make sense, but usually luxury car owners (generalization that if you spend lots of cash on your car, you don't want people having access to your interior and would remember to roll-up before you got out the car) have some sense of closing their windows before they get out of the car.

I'm sure there's something aftermarket that gives you the roll-down function on the remote, but I'm thinkin' it's an extra that doesn't have much consumer demand.

Hey Guys, main reason is you need another motor that rolls up, you can invert it to only roll up if you want to , but not both ways unless you buy a motor that specifically does that.

For me, it would be nice to have roll-up because I park my car at work with the windows down sometimes...then down comes the rain and I have to run outside and get soaked to get them up. Not a necessity, but would be nice to not have to do that.

Fair enough. In that situation it would be nice to have.

But aren't you worried at all about external factors? Besides the weather aren't you worried about punk kids who may decide to prank your car while the windows are down? Or birds making deposits into your vehicle? What about leaves or dirt blowing around?

I just think it's kinda risky to leave your windows down at anytime when you're not in the vehicle. So from that standpoint, there isn't a time I'd need the roll-up.

But, to each their own. I'd be interested to see if anyone mods the motor to roll-up.

The motors for rolling up and down already exist. There is no need for "extra motors." You can't do roll-up from the key fob because of safety concerns, especially because every year a few small children are killed or injured by electric windows. The problem was much worse about 10 years ago, which led to the adoption of the current internal window control switches, where you have to lift up on the switch to close the window. Many cars used to have simple rocker switches for window control, but these resulted in small children leaning against the armrest with their head out of the window and accidently hitting the roll-up switch.

There was a add on for my old VW Jetta that allowed you to roll the windows up & down as well as open & close the sunroof.

But default, they only had the windows roll down & the windows go up/close sunroof but turning & holding the key in the door. Thats why a lot of people went with the AlienTech (i think it's the right name) add on.

VW also had a really good pinch sensor for rolling up the windows. The TSX already has it too. You cannot have auto up/down windows without the pinch sensor. I've never tested it, but surely it's there. There's no difference in using the key fob to auto roll up versus the button on the door. The windows still moves up at the same speed.

I would love to have key fob feature standard on our TSX's. There are a ton of times in the summer that I leave the windows part down and the roof open - I want to be able to either fully open or close both from the fob.

The Germans had this feature, but I have been lifted off of the ground by a Mercedes using their window roll-up feature, so I don't trust their safety system.

I have failed to get the TSX to stop rolling up as I press down with my hand. Iwouldn't trust a kids' arm in there.

Whoever was talking about having one motor for up and one motor for down either is working on their subtelty or really doesn't get DC motors.

Oh, and my US TSX nav worked in Vancouver BC... oddly, it took longer to decide things than when in the US, but it worked.

Cause you can hurt a child/dog if you have that function.

As for it being practical, no it probably is NOT that practical. But it's an Acura, where convinient features are welcome When I was testing out "roll down" in dealership, the salesman had to go inside the car and roll up windows again when we were done test driving

You can do roll-up with the key in the door. I forget the combination. It's in the manual.

All the time. When I get back from class and it's hot outside I always open the windows. I'm sure if I had autostart I'd use that even more to blast the AC or Heat.

Yeah, you can just put your key in and turn:

turn and hold lock to - roll windows up
turn and hold unlock - roll down

My only qualm is that this doesn't work on the sunroof. All the benz's do that, why not the TSX?
