Hook loops in the trunk

I am now a official member of this community as I picked up my new TSX on Friday. If anyone cares, it's 6MT w/Navi Glacier Blue Metallic/Ebony.

Anyway, I had a question about the number of hook loops that are supposed to be in the trunk. Right now I have 4. 2 in the middle of the trunk floor. And 2 just under the taillights. With that arrangement, I don't understand how the cargo net works. Looking at the picture of it on websites, it seems the top hooks around the trunk hood arms, but there's nothing there.

Is my car missing something? Or does the dealer have to install extra hooks if you buy the cargo net. I did notice like a $80 labor/installation charge associated with the cargo net which seemed really strange at the time.

Just want to know if my car is missing something that shoud be there.

yeah, you have to install a few screws or something that does not come stock. that's why most people do not get the net - it's a pain in the arse to put in. let me find you a link...

https://hondacuraworld.hostasaurus.c...tructions/tsx/
just click on the cargo net link to check out the part list and instructions

An alternative that several people have used is to buy the cargo net for the 350Z. It fits perfectly in the existing 4 hooks.

does the 350z cargo net go right in or do you have to install other stuff?

No installation required.

I have the 350Z net. It is AWESOME, and I really like it for three main reasons:

1. Installs in literally 8.3 seconds. Uninstalls just as quick if needed.
2. Sits flat, so if you throw some golf clubs in or whatever, its like the net wasn't even there (good). The OEM Honda mat hangs and IMO, is in the way, for large stuff like golf bags, etc...
3. Holds a TON of stuff. You can fit $75 worth of groceries under it, no problem. Won't squish the bread. The hanging style like OEM Acura one, can squish stuff if you <are dumb enough to> put something squishable under something heavy.

The 350Z net works more like a tie down.
It holds stuff down against the trunk floor to prevent sliding, or popping up if you were to hit a huge pothole.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll have to swing by the Nissan dealer and see if I can pick one up. I think the Nissan dealer is across the street from where I bought the car.

I see the 350Z cargo net is around $30 online. Is it about the same price at the dealer? Does anyone know?

Got mine for $35 shipped on ebay ($30 + ship) so that sounds about right.
Not sure how much dealer charges, but probably more than $30.
Otherwise there would be no incentive for sellers to put it on ebay at a fixed price of $30.

I just paid $35.50 from ebay also. Looks like an easier install than the OEM TSX one anyway.

Yeah...that looks good. Does it hold stuff down well during high speed turns?

Is this the one you guys bought?

Like the others said, the 350Z net is a perfect fit. From what I've read in previous posts, make sure you get the 350Z net for the coupe and not the convertable. I paid 24.50 on ebay plus shipping for a total of 32.50. It works great.

I've been using this one ever since I got my TSX. I actually use it quite often now.

also...those of you who have the 350z cargo net...did you change the clips? I'm not sure how long they'll last since they're plastic...

If you don't drop a cinder block on the clips, I'm sure they're plenty-strong.

They're holding bungee material, meaning the bungee will be taking 99.99% of the stress.

I just called the local Nissan dealer, it's $36 from them -- not gonna wait around to buy it online just to save $5
