Help me find Honda/Acura TSB# 07015

Acura has release a TSB for the wiper chatter that many of us have experienced on our 06+ TSX's. Unfortunately, the TSB isn't available to the public. Can someone with access to the honda/acura TSB's lookup and post TSB# 07015?

Many thanks in advance!

NHTSA Number 10021970 TSB number 07015

This is a recently updated TSX (March 2010) that addresses the chattering wiper issue that has plagued the 06+ models. This tsb replace the wiper assemblies (the part that attaches to the wiper arm). Apparently, honda finally got their act together and produced a wiper assembly that puts the right amount of pressure on the windshield. From the TSB, it looks like they switched from a rubber assembly to a more rigid plastic one. Either way, I'm taking this baby into the dealership and getting some new wipers!

I will need to do some more research on this. Please tell me about your dealership experience. I brought my car in today for an oil service and to have this wiper blade changed. I brought a print out of the TSB and provided it to the service advisor. I have some concerns: a) He told me the TSB is a "recommendation" which would not be covered under warranty - so I had to pay for it. My car is 53K miles - is it out of warranty yet??? and are TSBs not actually covered under warranty?
b) when I got my car back, the replacement part was 76630-SEC-A11 (BLADE, WSW 400) not the same as was on the TSB (76660-SEC-305). Before I left the parking lot, I asked the service advisor about the discrepancy. He told me he asked his Parts guy who researched it and said that the replacement part (which looks just like the old one) "superceeded" the TSB and that the Parts guy could not find the wiper blade set.

I paid $24.32 for the replacement blade.

I want to give the Service advisor the benefit-of-the-doubt, as I have serviced my car at this same dealership several times without problems. So before I e-mail the Service Advisor to ask him to re-check his sources (could this be incompetence on Parts guy? Incompetence of the Service advisor? or did we get the wrong information?), I am doing the same...please share your thoughts.

Going off of what the OP said in this thread: click, the service adviser seems to be mistaken. If the OP recently got his wipers replaced with the new part number (76660-SEC-305), then obviously these new wiper parts are available. The TSB was only recently updated (March 2010), so the parts guy could have old info. However, he should have access to the new parts. And I don't know about your warranty status (call acura), but the TSB specifically states that replacing the wipers is covered by the normal warranty. I do believe dealerships can make a judgment about whether the TSB applies to your particular case, but if I were you, I'd make a stink or just go to a different dealership if possible.

The replacement wiper blade you received is the standard, old rubber blade. The TSB specifically states that the plastic blade is "new." So unless something happened between March 19th, 2010 and yesterday, they've probably f'd up.

I have a 07 TSX and I don't notice any windshield wipers chattering yet. TSB's are good for me to repair the problems myself if they ever occur. My dealership never does anything for free even when it's known problem and my car is under warranty. Dealership obviously get paid more when they charge customers for repair than billing Honda for TSB and warranty repairs

I have a 2006 TSX since i have 56K on the odometer i know i am past waranty but i have had the problem for a long time just didnt notice that it was a problem with the wipers. Why cant they fix all of them for free since its an obvious design flaw.

The dealer can fix it for free as a goodwill gesture outside of your warranty period, but it may be difficult to get them to do so. My advice is to try to get it done when you get another service from the dealership. So at least on that visit you are making them some money, and they'll be more amenable to doing you a favor. If the service adviser won't do it, politely ask for the manager and explain that you've been a good customer etc. Unfortunately, once your warranty is up, they don't have to honor TSB for free. Maybe try different dealerships?

I can't find the new tsb parts online, but they should run about $40 for both the new wiper assemblies. That's high, but not too painful on the wallet if you just want to replace the assemblies yourself and not have to deal with the dealership d*cking you around.

when I bought my tsx in for service today I mentioned the wiper problem to the service manager. He then showed me the tsb on his computer and said they would adjust mine.

They did not have them in stock so they ordered them for me. They are supposed to be tomorrow but since I can not get there they will be holding onto them. Yes, free. I try to get all my service done at this dealer.

Took our 08 TSX in for a replacement with the new wiper assemblies free of charge thanks to this thread. At first I mentioned about the chattering and they recommended that it was time for new blade replacement with the old parts until I mentioned the TSB with new part numbers. If the car is still under warranty, all TSB are performed for free. Just make sure that they have the right new part numbers.

If the dealer is good they will replace them free even when the warranty has expired

Neither the Marin nor Sonoma dealers will do so for a TSX CPO... not covered under that warranty so they say.....

In which case I'm wondering if I wouldn't be better off going with the Bosch or Valeo blades?
