Headlight restore with Quixx

I bought the cheapest acrylic cleaning kit for $5 at Wal-Mart. I bought the car with headlights already dingy. There are write ups elsewhere, these are just my pics before and after.

After wet sanding:

Walmart has the Quixx High Performance Acrylic Scratch Remover kit for $5? Seems like a great price, suggested retail on their website is $14.95. Was it located in the auto department?

It was in the automotive section on the top shelf. It looks to be marketed differently than a true headlight restorer.

The kit comes with two green pieces of wet sanding paper and 2 white applicator clothes and a toothpaste tube of the product.

I did a friends Corolla at work and it came out just as well.

I need an admin to fix the above links for me. Ran out of time to fix it.

I probably festered for an hour trying to get them as bright as possible. I used my Craftsman random orbital buffer with some wax after using the Quixx polish.

I probably spent 20 minutes rubbing and buffing the Corolla headlights. I didn't need to wet sand those.

I have used Megulars Mirror glaze #17 Clear Plastic Cleaner (white bottle) on my 1999 Integra. (My TSX is still good---no polish needed yet !!!!)

Worked well. Did it by hand. Did not wax. Does the wax provide any benefit?

I have read on the other headlight posts that there is a possible clearcoat on the headlights. When wet sanding it removes any coating there may have been on them. I had everything out already so it wasn't that big of an issue.
