HardWire Cobra Radar Detector
So i finally hard wired in my radar detector.
I went with the add-a-circuit method to avoid cutting/splicing/tapping existing wires.
Once i found a ground point i could reach to unscrew, everything worked out great.
I like the add-a-circuit method because i can always disconnect everything (if i ever needed to) without having exposed or taped up wires. Its a simple plug-and-play.
I saw the howto listed here and might try threading the wire up and arround to get to the fusebox.
But, i have my detector mounted low on the windshield and im not sure i like the look of the wire crossing most of the height of the windsheild.
The other option i see is dropping down and running the wire along the base of the windshield and then down the crack between the dash and the door. I'm not sure i like this idea either because the wire just lays there on the dash and there is no real way to secure it that i can see.
Do you think there is a way to thread UP through some existing hole near the center of the dash? If so is it reachable from the pedal area near the fusebox?
ideas?
