Going Cross Country
Hi all. I've been offered a job in Cali and am 99% sure I'm going to take it, so it looks like I get to take the TSX for a ride from CT. I can't wait to take full advantage of the power of the Navi...both during the trip and once I'm there, since I won't know where anything is.
The only downside is I'll be tripling my mileage, since there's only about 1600 on there now.
Anyone else make a similar trip with the TSX?

I drove from Tampa to Austin and back this summer for an internship. It's a very simple drive getting there (I75 to I10 to Highway 76 and that's it), but the Nav still came in really useful to tell me how much further it was where I wanted to stay for the night, and for detours when traffic stopped, and for finding places to eat off the interstate.
Just make sure to put some wax on the front part of your car so the bugs come off easier. Because there will be a LOT of bugs.

I made the trip from NJ to CA about 18 months ago. It took me 3 weeks cause i just went all over the damn place and saw whatever i wanted. The navi was definitely a necessity.

I think I'd probably be going for about 5 days driving, so won't be taking TOO many detours, but anything particular that you saw along the way worth seeing?

I moved from Miami to Boulder a few months ago. The drive was not bad at all. I think it definitely helped being in a comfortable car, though. And let me tell you, not knowing a thing about Colorado, the navi is a GREAT thing to have.

The Henry Ford Museum AND Greenfield Village, Dearborn, MI (outside Detroit) is/are one of the great wonders of the world. Sure the cars are fine, but walking through The Wright Brothers' Bycicle Shop, or Thomas Edison's Lab, lets you see and touch part of the history of the world.
Don't forget the Rain-X.

get a claer bra installed, or use those temporary spray on ones
also make some good CDs (long drives with crappy music sucks)
pack about 2 packs of those rain x wipes
have a lot of fun on the way there

Drove from Columbus to Denver and back last summer for a wedding and week in Rocky Mountain National Park. Pretty boring drive, as all the good stuff is west of Denver, I'd agree with the guy who said take 80 and then hit 70 in Denver, a buddy of mine in Denver drove 70 in to Utah and then some other highway down to Vegas and said it was just an amazing drive. Even though it was largely a boring drive, I am glad to have done it, it really gave me a sense of accomplishment. Enjoy it, it's not often you have occasion to do something so cool.
If you want to detour ~125 miles south of Denver you can drive to the top of Pike's Peak. It's a ~19 mile road and more than half is not paved. I did it, pretty cool drive.
