Gas Mileage is Poor
I have about 865 miles on my TSX...
Is it reasonable to be getting about 15 miles per gallon?
because that is what im getting and its a little annoying to stop and fill up gas every 4 days...

Dpak, there are several possible reason for your unusually low mileage:
1. Your TSX is still not broken in
2. Winter - my TSX mileage definitely is much worse during winter in this cold, snowy climate (but I don't know where you live!)
3. Your driving style?
4. Your calculation - is it by manual calculation or just what it shows on the computer? Don't trust that computer, do it yourself by dividing the number of miles by the number of gallons you just put in.
My TSX started off with about 17 miles per gallon, then it rapidly increased to 28mpg during summer and 24 during winter.

Good luck!

I'm getting about 19mpg in local driving around LA, which is pretty bad.
In strictly highway driving I'm getting about 30-32.
All the above took a while to get to after breakin, and have varied from time to time as the summer and winter gas formulations in California change.

Once the engine is broken in, if you drive your car like you stole it, you should get around 18 miles per gallon...
Trust me I have a lot of empirical data on the subject
Cheers and congrats

I was alarmed when I got my TSX a couple of weeks ago to discover that it was guzzling only 12 miles per gallon, but I listened to the advice on Acurazine posts that I should wait for my engine to be broken in. I am happy to report that my mileage on the second tank is up to 21 plus mpg. But that's still only a couple of hundred miles. Sounds as though you've done 4 times that. Well, maybe some engines take longer to break in...

15 MPG is very low. Even if you factor in the break-in period with the winter gas.
Remember to drive smoothely and brake smoothely. Avoid hard accelerations, idles, and needless revs.

i forget my nubmer. around 17-19 mpg tho. but i drive with a heavy foot.
just this last fill up i marked 469 km for 58 hm. work out to 12.36 L/100km (thats our milage value).
if anyone feels like converting for comparison, go ahead

15 seems REALLY low. But, considering the low mileage you have on it I'd give it a little more time. Do keep an eye on it every fill up. As everyone said, your driving style has a LOT to do with it. Take it really easy (I mean, baby it) on the next tank and then calculate your mileage again. It should go up.

If you have the Navi, the Advanced Trip Computer's History gives some helpful info on your driving for the previous tank's fill up. I got 16MPG once and noted from the Advanced trip my average speed was about 19 MPH and I can't remember how long the engine was running, I think it was somewhere around 9 or 10 hours.
So seeing you got 16MPG, I would say you drove your car about 95% city in stop and go traffic or having to stop at a lot of traffic lights. Or it could be due to parking the car with the engine running, I know when I was programming addresses in my Navi with the engine running, I went from something like an AVG of 23 or 21MPG to 18MPG (AVG MPG from Navi Trip computer).

I was getting really low gas mileage too when I first got my TSX last month. Due to the break-in, I was driving the car like a grandma and I was concerned when I noticed I was averaging 16 - 17mpg (via the navi trip computer). But this was like 95% city driving though. With a little over 1000 miles, my last tank info was 19.3mpg with an average speed of less than 20mph... again..mostly city driving.

Edit for clarity: If he changes his driving style now, the effects of coming out of break-in will be superimposed on top of the change in driving style.

One of my best gas mileages was done at the second tank, precisely because I was breaking it in.

As a matter of fact, it doesn't even make sense that you'd get better mileage when things are wearing in. You must be some kinda mpg robot, sauceman...

15mpg...wow then I'm thrilled with 28.6 (calculated) 32.2 (navi-avg.) on my new 6spd with 600+ miles on the odo. That would be from 60%/40% highway/city running 65-80mph commute.
