Gas Cap

When I unscrew my gas cap to refuel, it just hangs there willy nilly, free to blow like a petroleum windsock. On most cars I've owned, there was a spot on the fuel door to "hang" it while pumping gas.

Am I missing something? Can you help me corral my free-range gas cap?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, there should be a small plastic piece that has a ball on the end. (sticks out from the top of the cap) That end attaches to a small latch on the door.

In lieu of having a better pic:

It seems alot of people who come here dont bother to RTFM, and aslo dont bother to do a search. This is why I suggested a FAQ.

And the first thing in it should be:

RTFM

Seriously though, I think a FAQ would be a great idea.

mcourt,

don't feel bad..

I RTFM, and missed that extremely diminutive point as well. I guess you and I HFWTD (Have F**king Work To Do), which made it imperative to skip over the part about putting gas into your car.

Well, that's what my wife tells me... so admittedly, there might be a grain of truth in there.

Mike, we aim to please!!
Actually, my sales guy at Acura of North Scottsdale pointed out the ball hanging thingy when we were going over the features of the car as I was about to drive it home for the first time. He did a very thorough job of explaining just about everything I needed to know. That impressed me a lot. Looks like not many salespeople do that.

I guess you should GBTYFW (Get Back To Your F**king Work) then instead of posting messages on this message board.

No problem. I just saw the pic the other day and I seriously doubt I'd catch it either. (until I obsess over the manual, cover to cover a few times. )
