You can try selling him the group buy idea, and he might be ready to give it to u at $27000 out the door. Thats a sweet enough deal for me.

Don't see how or why they would or could do that when Invoice is supposed to be $26995. ??? They don't have to discount much if at all when a ride like this sells itself and and are hard to keep on the lot!

And you will need to keep your cool with them, even if they piss you off, because if not, you won't get anything from them.

You are always better off walking out the front door then making a scene and letting them decide they don't want to walk an extra step for your business because they don't believe you deserve it.

I also just had a first time experience with dealers. While I wasn't really treated badly or anything, I still learned my lesson #1 dealing with dealers: "don't believe what they say". They will say anything to get you inside their dealership and pay a deposit.

Over the phone, it was "$1000 over invoice". Once I arrive at the dealiership, it was "$1000 - $1500 over invoice". After talking to the manager, it was "$1500 over invoice". They said the car "should arrive before the weekend". When the weekend arrives I call and "it'll probably arrive tonight or tomorrow morning". The next day I call and "it should arrive tomorrow". Repeat 4 times. When the car arrives, it's not even the car I had ordered! I had ordered a non-navi, but when I saw the car I was like, wtf what's that screen doing there?! Because I couldn't wait the "2-3 weeks" (if you believe them) it takes for the next non-navi shipment to arrive, I got the navi instead.

Well, to make a confession myself, I love the navi now that I got it

i'm just going to apply at acura, buy the car and leave
darn.. im about to give up.. just gonna pay the 28477 or maybe he will drop it to 28000.. im desperate... maybe 2004 tsx....

I can verify that is not the invoice price.

A dealer offered me

Non-Navi - $25,921.76 (includes destination) + fees
With Navi - $27,742.57 + fees

They ALL lie, play games and do bait and switch to drag you in. If your girl friend got $28477 OTD she didn't do to bad! Invoice is $26995. Like I said before, your going to pay 1500 over invoice at best, to 500 under MSRP! Face it, some WILL PAY MSRP! They are there to make $$, NOT give you a deal. My bet, since they don't part loose with any dealer hold backs, they make at least 5K per unit! I'm an old fart compared to you all and have bought to many new cars in my life not to know how all this works.

Navi is only 2K more, therefore the invoice #'s between the non navi and navi wil ONLY reflect the 2K difference NO OTHER numbers should be different. Example, say, Invoive is $24995 w/o navi,,,With navi is $26995 If #'s are different they are adding more on their side of the profit.

Hey all.

I just got off the phone with a very very very kewl dude. He works down at acura 101 west. Matter of fact, i was trying to search for my exact color and model and kept calling dealerships and asking if they have it, but he immediatly ran a search and told me wich dealers had my exact specs. Matter of fact, he weeded out quite a few liars that told me they did have them. Anyway. a little side note. I am comming desperatly close to needing a car, Currently my car sits along the side of the freeway needing a new belt. So i am prolly going to be out of the deal.

anyway..... This guy was extremely up front with me. He told me that the majority of dealers are more intersted in the group buy if they can get rid of their current or inbound inventory. He also said that it wouldnt be too hard to do what is called a dealer order trade, on cars that have been ordered already. He said the figure that kenji came up with is extremely close if not the best you can find out there.

He said that they pay 26,992.57 for every navi acura that they get. then they have to mark it up 400 to cover all their maint fees and make their marginal profit. He said that he would be very willing to meet our needs. but he needs to know exactly how much of his inventory this deal will push out.

Soooo basically.... We need to know specifics on cars... colors/navi/transmission.

I think this is a very basic premise on this deal. We can promise 10-15 cars all day long, but they are less willling to work unless they know specifics.

I personally

I know this is a longshot but.. do you know the estimate of otd price for: no navi and no options?
is the dest included in fees?
fees for my quote is 2300..
so.. 25000 + 2300 = 27300 otd?
why did the salesman bi^@&ed at me when I asked for 27800 otd?
are you sure?

Just want to make sure, don't want to bring my hopes up.
If you can get it for that price then I am in!!!!

That dealer better check his invoice, he has his #'s turned around! His Navi price is really the NON NAVI price!

Any bet takers out there!!!

Here's why

$28990 W/Navi

$1500 over invoice

$2591 Tax, roughly, depending where you live

$ 325 Register, roughly

Total

$33496.00

Ummmmm you better check again 28,990 is msrp, NOT invoice.

Dest charge is 570, which is then added on...

Sorry if I'm missing something, but have we actually got a set-in-stone price yet provided that there are enough buyers? From the post pandimus put up, it looks like invoice + 400 (includes dest). Is that the price we're shooting for the group buy and how solid is it?

Actually we are shooting for as low as they will give us. the current problem is that we are saying there are 10 people in on this, but dealerships wanna see colors and options, so they can look at their inventory. I garantee that the more cars we can pull out of a dealerships inventory, the better we are going to do.

Maybe there should be a deadline put on this otherwise there may be nothing but chatter back and forth about price, colors w /wo/navi, etc. ect. Then set a date for all who are SERIOUS to submit what they want then hand it over to the dealer to check against his inventory. Then, will the SERIOUS be willing to send a check to that dealer to secure this transaction? I for one, would!

Any ideas out there? Or what is your take on handling all this? I am open ears!

Actually if you go to some older posts in this thread you will see that is the whole plan. But we need everyone serious to tell us what color/options they want so we can present it to dealerships.

So far i have 3 people including myself.

I am serious as a heart attack!

I hear what you are saying. Most all have now been notified if they read this thread.
