fuel type...
Just purchased a new TSX, what fuel grades do you guys recommend?...
Book and dealer says 91 octane or higher....Shell V-Power any good?...as it seams like more of a cleaner, but I just filled up with it today.
thanks,
Marc from Ottawa Canada.

I just posted this in another thread but it also applies here...
I can't believe that people make such a big deal about the TSX taking premium fuel. If one drives 15,000 miles per year and averages 26 MPG and assuming the cost difference is 20 cents (between regular and premium) then we're only talking about roughly an extra $100 per year -- that equates to only $2 per week. I hardly believe that will break anyone's bank (who can afford a TSX in the first place).

Hey Marc - I'm in Ottawa, too!
Bend over at the pumps!
On that note, I always run Petro Canada 91 octane and have never had any problems. Shell is good, too, but I collect Petro Points, not Airmiles, and there is a Petro near my house.

Although for the first time I will have a vehicle that will require premium gas at 9 cents a litre more than regular, I figure that I will still save over $600 a year compared to my current vehicle. Gas here is the cheapest in Canada but each full fill up will be close to $70.
A little off topic but this talk of burning engine oil surprises me a little. I have never in over five years of owning a Ford Escape have had to add oil between oil changes. I would have thought that the more expensive Acura would be at least as good. Maybe it is the difference between a high performing four and solid six engine?
