Fuel Injector Cleaners, do they really work?

Please chip in your opinions to whether Fuel Injector Cleaners really work and to what extent. Also, what brand gas station gives most cleaning power to your engine IYO and your experience? Chevron, 76, Shell, Arco, Mobile, Texaco, etc.

Just use Chevron. No additional injector cleaner needed.

personally I think Fuel Injection cleaner works, feel the engine is somewhat less bumpy, a little bit smoother and quieter.

Chevron Techron really works? I've thought it's just a marketing tool they use just like Shell V-Power

My assumption is that these are very strong chemical solvents that will dissolve hydrocarbon deposits. If so, they can't be very good for other components it comes into contact with.

I have been using Chevron 91 octane exclusively for a year, and I can tell you my car performs like it did when it was new, actually even better since it's broken in!

I've always used Chevron exclusively for all my cars. When I sent injectors to http://www.rceng.com for testing and cleaning service, the before test results (flow rate and spray patten) were alway very good. In fact, they were so good that I stopped sending them in for cleaning.

I use it before oil change as the chemical may cause your oil to break down.. and yeah its some strong thing..

I usually use it when theres half a tank left, burn through that.. warm up the car and do the oil change so everything flows out better..

thats for the old car.. i only use it like once every 10-15k.. not like every 5k

I don't use injector cleaners, but they probably aren't harmful, so I say use them if you like. They might not help the engine much, but if they make the owner feel better, then it's $5.00 well spent.

ForceSHO, it's not clear to me how a fuel additive could cause the oil to break down? The fuel shouldn't be coming into contact with the oil. If you're getting fuel in your oil, the engine already has problems...

I dont go into service.. diy oil change

air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.. oil gets in there to help you lube the cylinder. Its nothing major, its probably not even enough to cause any damage.
