Formula One in NYC

Is there any place where I could get Formula One tint in NYC? I looked up the dealers for that brand of tint and could only find them in Virginia or somewhere around there. Pretty far drive for tint if you ask me. Thanks for the responses!

There's one in Delaware....that's closer than VA. Have you tried asking a local installer if he can get it? I don't blame them for not seeking a dealer in NYS with the stupid tint laws we have here. If you want to stay legal, it's like not having any tint at all...70% visibilty, might as well just not clean your windows.

I got my windows tinted there. I heard a lot of good things about this shop and their workmanship. Maybe it is me but I am kinda of disappointed. They put in this mole skin to help prevent the tint from scratching. But 4 months later the adhesive came lose and the whole thing came out. Two of my windows had residue all over it. Granted they said they stand by their work and I can bring my car back anytime at no charge. I gotta give them a call soon.

Might look for a place in Queens. I think the 35% tint is too light. I want to go darker but don't want to catch any heat.

tint laws in NYC suck. They ticket you not only once but 2 times for both sides of the window. This happened to my co-worker. He drives a 01 CL with 35% all around and got a ticket. I plan on redoing my tint to 20-25% from 35% cause i just don't give a damn. Does driving a black car make the tint less dark? ^^

I've had Forumla One Pinnacle for 2 months now and I roll down my drivers window at least twice a day. No scratches so far and no moleskin. The trick is to make sure you keep the insides of the windows clean and to make sure the installer doesn't leave a lot of release agent on the window seals. It seems that dust and dirt sticks to this and promotes scratching. My installed cleaned these after doing the tint to make sure they didn't hold dirt.

200? What kind of tint did you get. I asked for formula one and said they never heard of it.

www.tintdue.com - catalog of tinters

Go to the tint forums and post the same question in "general."

BTW-Whats with the Formula One fascination? Out of all the better brands, why Formula One?

...And someone said $200 and they added moleskin? I gotta see that tint job up close.

I assumed you needed ceramic tint due to navigation concerns. If you don't have Navi no reason to spend extra on ceramic tint. F1 makes non cermaic of course and I had a non ceramic F1 tint and it was okay. The heat rejection of the Pinnicle seems better to me. If you don't need ceramic there are a lot of other good tints out there. I personally wold stay away from a dyed tint due to fading issues. I see lots of faded dyed tint here in south Texas.

Navigation or not, the TSX has the radio antenna in the back window which means your only option is a dyed film on it or ceramic film. And there are only 2 companies that have the manufacturing equipment to make a truely ceramic film. Those 2 companies are Huper Optic and Madico. Others may advertise it, but when you set up a heat lamp in front of thier "ceramic type" film there is no comparison to the 2 said companies films. Ceramic films are fairly new tchnology that I have recently earned respect for. It still hasn't been around long enough for me to put my "long term" stamp of approval on. The day you put it on it works wonders for heat rejection for sure, but I have yet to see what it looks like on a car 5-6 years later. Only a few films out there get my +5year stamp of approval on it. And those films are all color stable dyed films from Madico and Llumar. Many companies advertise well, but the proof lies in the post 5 year tint job.
