I taped mine into the glove box light so it would fade in and out.

I have the ambient lighting that stays on as well as the footwell lighting that turns on when the doors are open and fades out with the domes when the door is closed. Love that mod

Which led's did you use for your footwell lighting? i'd like to use the cool white ones.

Nice job on the mod

I'm guessing you did the green/red dome light wire for ground. Its better for bright lights like that. I agree that always-on is good for dim lights.

Do yours toggle between each option with an spdt switch?

I’m going to change mine to be dim blue/uv with the parklights and brighter white when the doors open... but they will not work simultaneously. If the dim blu/uv ones are on, the white ones won't work even if the doors open. Its two sets of differently colored LEDs that work under separate operating conditions.

I’m also going to add rear foot well LEDs that turn on only with their rear doors cause sometimes people step on my stuff back there.

Mod planning for spring time

The glovebox light doesn’t fade like that. It turns on with the parklight switch. Did you mean the dome lights?

^ lol, too advanced for me man. I simply got 2 sets of the 3 LED sets from PepBoys. Tapped 2 of em into the middle cubby light which work with the headlights when they turn on. I then tapped the green/red wire for the other two to turn on with the doors and fade in and out.

Your future mod plans sound pretty good and should be fun. I want to do LED's for the rear to turn on with the doors too, but that will have to wait for the weather to become much nicer.

^^Oh you wired them separately. What I meant was I thought you added a door/on switch like intensity2x did in his pic here:

^ in this pic, if the switch is up, the LEDs are constantly on. If the switch is down, they work with the doors. With this way, the same LEDs are used for both functions.

Yea I'm waiting on the warmer weather too. Its a non-stop blizzard here right now... cant wait!

Oh, ok. Yea I could've added the switch but didn't think I'd actually go for the lights being on other than with the door. I wound up adding the foot well lighting being on all the time a week or so after I did the door lights fading. Might do the switch later on when it gets warmer out. Can't wait for spring/summer!

if anybody is curious where i tapped,

i tapped the ignition key ring light. i did it that way cuz i couldnt find the wires for the dome and i noticed if i tapped the door light ( the light actually on the door ) , only the light on the door which is open turns on.

** god i hopped that made sense**

There's a fuse box by the kick panel/dead pedal. On the top right hand corner literally behind the fuse box is a 5 pin clip iirc. Undo and look behind it, there will be a green/red wire. That you tap for the ground and then tap the bottom row 6th fuse in for the positive power. That's the wires for the dome lights turning on and off with the key fob, door opening/closing etc. That's what I tapped.

Here it is... the link that shows how to wire LEDs to the dome light fading wire (green/red ground wire, connector-W on back of underdash fusebox). It also shows how to use the SDPT switch if you want to have constant-on and dome light mode.

I'll post a picture/diagram showing how to locate the connector with the green/red wire. Its kind of hard to reach.
