Finally got the good mileage I expected
Finally got the good mileage I expected
I drove from Phoenix to Las Vegas yesterday and with four adults on board and speeds steadily between 80-100 mph I was rewarded with rock steady handling and 28 mpg. I was pleased to see no deterioration of ride quality, no mushiness at all, even with the full trunk and 4 people. I used 34 psi all round in my stock tires. It really gave up nothing in quiet or high speed handling to my former 323i with sport package. Wind noise was very low even in windy conditions at 100 to 110 mph. I did not see any other TSX's all the way up or back to PHX. No cops either, luckily, save for one sheriff in a small town along the way.
Its an AT (had to for my wife, first auto I ever bought, but all in all, its a good one).
I had 6K at the start of the trip (its about 300 miles one way). I have a Milano one. I believe I got some stares as those dual pipes eased by lots of nice iron on those sometimes twisty roads to LV. I don't have navi but by calculations I averaged about 73 miles per hour, incl. all the stop and go past hoover dam
