factory windows slightly greenish

I just recently got my car tinted with 35% 3m film, it has a very slight greenish tint to it, I think I remember seeing a bit of that hue in the factory glass. From what I am seeing in pictures from form members cars it appears they have this greenish look as well. I checked out the film before they put it on and it wasnt greenish at all, definitely gray. The rep from the tint place explained this is because of acuras factory glass treatment and this is normal, said it would look like this no matter the brand of tint used, said I would need to go darker to not see it. Any thoughts, anyone else noticed this, are they giving me fact or bs?

I've never noticed any kind of 'greenish' color to my windows...before or after I had tint put on.

hmm, I really didnt notice it either, my gf pointed it out, very subtle. wonder if I got scammed? although it does appear to look like the pictures of other forum members cars with 35%. Guess I need to post a pic of the car, again it is subtle.

Can you post some pics?

Which location did you go to? I checked out Executive Tint on Gessner a few weeks ago, and they tried to sell me on the Black Max tint also. I'm not sure if it's made by 3m as I couldn't find any information about it online.

Do you know if you got the HP DLX or Titanium HP? Also, did you get the moleskin, or have had any issues with scratching? Thanks

I think the factory tint is green (as in most, if not all, factory lightly tinted glass I believe) and provides 11% blockage according to my tint shop. But I have to ask.... so what? Does it not look good?

I got the hp dlx at the hilcroft location. It does look pretty good, just wondering about the greenish hue, but after being out all day and checking out Honda/acuras I realize there is a greenish hue to all of them except for the darker tints (can't see it). I'll post pix tomorrow if I get a chance to take some.

Hmmm, yea def would have to see pics to see what you're talkin about. I had 35% all around and never noticed it. I'm pretty anal about this sorta stuff too. Friends, car buffs, family, girlfriend...no one said anything or noticed it either.

Now I have legal after multiple tint tickets so I'm 35% R and 50% F but I never seen any green hue. What's the interior color of your car? I have black so maybe if you have tan/gray it might give that off with the contrast in color?

I remember the dealer asking me if I wanted this "coating". It had a slight blue/greenish hue. It was supposed to be hydrophobic and scratch resistant. Might be the same stuff.

Thanks for all the info, I think this one is solved as a factory coating with a greenish hue... Executive Tint did an overall good job in a very fast manor, there are some bubbles on one of the back windows, I'm gonna give it a few more days and take them up on that warranty if they don't go away by then.
Thanks again.
