Is an exhaust install for $150 fair?

Hi guys,

I'm getting my exhaust installed this weekend and was quoted at $150 for labor. I was wondering if this is a fair price for a exhaust swap. I was quoted at various shops for $100 - $150 but this one seems to be most professional because I don't want any leaks or misalignments.

What have you paid?

Thanks and I will post photos once the exhaust is mounted!

$150 is High yes. Get it done for the cheapest price. Its not hard and does not require a "proffesional" installation imo.

Man $150 for installing a bolt on is high. One shop gave me a quote around that number and I just hung up. My friend took me to his friends body shop and I paid about $40 including taking off a stripped bolt. Don't ask, my friend stripped the bolt.

You can do it yourself with basic hand tools and a jack w/stands. Assuming you don't run into any seized bolts it's a piece of cake. Plus there is nothing like the satisfaction of knowing you did the job yourself

I paid $80 for mine but that included them custom bending my pipes .. so if your buying the pipes already bent and they just have to install them then $150 is pretty over priced. Then again, you can't put a price on your true love [your TSX] lol so do what ever makes you feel most comfortable, in the long run it's your money and your car.

way too high. Especially for a job you can do on your own, even if you posses little mechanical skill.

if you can turn a wrench you can do it.

Make sure you grease up the bolts and that the car is cold since the bolts will be easier to take off.

Yeah, get some knock loose and spray them on the bolts while the exhaust is still warm. I'm actually out in Berkeley sometimes, good luck on the install!
