Angry Egged!

So the spring on our garage door broke a couple days ago and the repair guys are coming out today. I moved my car onto the street last night so I wouldn't have to wake my roommate up early to help me lift the garage door (it's solid wood panelling). To my horror, when I went to my TSX this morning, some punk had egged it. Egg was everywhere...windsheild, roof, doors, etc. They unloaded an entire carton.

I ran to the car wash on the way to work but there is still traces of egg and scratches from where the eggs impacted my paint. This is worse than a door ding...have any of you ever been egged and what did you do to remedy? Sand, polish and wax or does a little elbow grease get the stuff out?

This is a sad sad day...my beautiful NBP has been perfect up until now.

Wow! Why would someone egg your TSX? If it's any consolation, at least you didn't have brake fluid poured on it.

I don't understand why people have to do that sort of things to other people's property. Pisses me off to think about it. Hope you get it resolved and back to its prior condition.

Correct. A good polishing with a Porter Cable will take car of it and any other minor scratches too.

Nasty. If someone ever egged my car, and I found out who it was, lets just say, it wouldn't get pretty.

Ouch, I guess it could have been worse.

Thanks for everyone's condolences and advice. Hopefully it will stay dry long enough for me to try the clay bar and scratch x.

Hopefully your paint is not damaged. If you take care of it right away, it shouldn't be a problem.

unfortunately, often the impact of the shell edges (after breaking) damage the paint. Get the residue off ASAP, and then use a paint cleaner like AIO, etc.. to see how bad the damage really is. If needed, use a PC and a light abrasive polish. As a last resort, do the "door ding" paint repair process.

We have a very good Wash & Wax section in Off Topic. Why not post your question there?

Indeed the egg shells have done more damage than I can repair. After a wash, claybar, paint clean and polish it's apparent the paint has been chipped down to primer or metal. I'm just going to use touch up paint for what I can now. Good news is the egg residue didn't etch the paint.

Thanks again everyone...you've shown AZ is still the #1 place to be!

I had my old car egged before and it left a circular pattern of tiny paint chips going all the way down to the metal. I couldn't believe an egg shell could do such damage! Like you said, fill up the chips with touch up paint, wet sand it, and polish with PC should make it a lot less visible. Good luck.

Whoever they are they should be stoned... rich is better, since their parents can buy me a new paint job.

that sux, there isn't much worse than egg on the paint of a car, I have had it happen a couple of times, I usually disappear on Halloween night, just in case the eggs are flying around my house.
