e-brake warning beep

I had the e-brake engaged as i started to drive off and i heard the beep. Very cool feature to warn a person like myself that tend to forget about releasing the e-brake.

Do they have it on the TL too?

Honda should have this feature on all their cars.

My 05 lost the beep and the warning light haha...
i'm guessing the 04 ecu is causing conflict or some wire is being bent.

I'm glad that the TSX has it.

This was back in 1994, but I remember when my uncle bought his first car,
a brand new Hyundai Elantra, he was giving me a ride to church and
people were honking at us like crazy.

He was going a bit slow cuz it was a new car and just thought people were upset
that he was going slow so he just ignored it.

We were almost half way to church and finally at a stop light the car driver next
to us got out so my uncle rolled down his window defensively.

To our surprise as soon as my uncle started rolling down the window
smoke came into our car and we realized, or should I saw he realized that
the e- break was up all this time

Thanks to that experience, I've only forgot to let go of the
e-break once while backing out of a parking space, and as soon as the warning
beep came on I released the e-break was I was all good

The Fit has it

If the Honda Fit has it, my guess is all the late model Hondas (05 & up) now have this.

I should double check to see if mine is working. I remember one time at work I ended up driving a few yards with the e-brake up. I didn't notice any warning lights or sounds

The only thing I wish is that it started beeping sooner. I've never left my e-brake fully engaged, but I left it partially engaged (one click) once and it took a couple seconds for the alert to sound. I would think it alerting ASAP would be better.

My parents GM trucks both rapidly flash the parking brake dash light, and disable all headlights/DRLs until it is released (probably for when driving at night) as soon as you put the vehicle in drive when the brake is set. If you still don't notice, it dings once you apply the accelerator.

Nonetheless, it's a good feature

I tried it at lunch today. Mine does do it. I guess it's what caused the beeping everytime I use the e-brake to do a u-turn. I always figured it was VSA yelling at me...now I know it's my e-brake lol

I've never driven with it up. It's strong enough to keep me from moving out of a parking space (at least at low rpms).

Does the beep work on the handle or the actual brake?

My first northern winter in my first car (a sweet ass 1991 Pontiac LeMans hatch 4spd <---yeah look that one up) the actual brake froze so nothing happened when I lowered the e-brake handle.

Not until about half-way home did I realize this when I heard a loud "clunk" and driving got a whole helluva lot easier

Same here. I'm not sure how somebody could drive very far and NOT notice it. I've forgot to release it a couple times, but never rolled from my spot before feeling the lack of power and going "Oh crap! hahaha...I'm so dumb!"

The TSX has gobs of power...so much power that you won't feel the drag caused by the e-brake!

Anyway, not everyone is observant. Some might figure it's the car warming up, a strong headwind, etc...
