Dusty Garage
I've had a problem for the past two weeks now of having a dusty garage. I have a NBP, so I know it'll show dust easier than other cars, but I just washed the car 5 days ago and there's enough dust to draw stuff on it. Does anyone else have a dusty garage and have a solution to this?
Oh yeah, my friend's dad has a z3, and he uses one of those swifer things and wipe the dust off before he drives. I'm hoping to stop the problem (i.e. get rid of the dust in the garage) before I shell out money for a nonpermanent solution.

a swiffer is like 5 bucks or something, we have 4 around my house.
theyre on sale most of the time too. though if ure that anal about the dust i doubt a swiffer is going to do the job. also i dont see why the swiffer would do any more than normally driving the car and having the wind blow it off

Swiffer or a California Duster?
Any thing on Dry paint + dust or dirt particles brushed around will most likely leave nasty clear coat scratches! Shame on thee for providing bad advice
Best advice I learn from my BMW buddies (most anal people in the world): Rule of thumb, Never touch the car between car washes! If you have to, just wash the car to remove the dust. or just get a car cover

Does anyone know if a car cover would prevent dust from settling onto the car when it's parked? I might just sweep the dust off after I go home everyday and put on a cover... inside a garage.

Go to Target/Walmart/etc... and buy an indoor HEPA air filtration system rated for the SqFt of your garage and leave it running all the time. Should be about 200-300 bucks.
Or, seal all places in your garage where walls meet walls, floor, windows, roof, etc. with caulk. Also, if you have a air excape vent in your garage, cover/close it.

if your garage floor is concrete and not sealed , you are generating a lot of dust that way.
if you go to a hardware store and get either a clear or coloured floor sealer and apply it your self it should help you.

Where is this dust coming from? You may want to take everything out of your garage, hose it down and give it a real good cleaning. To help maintain the low dust level, sweep the garage out about once a week or when needed. Keep the garage door closed until you need to enter or exit.
