Door Edge Trim

Anyone have the door edge trim?

I've nicked my rbp's a few times already and its killing me. Ownerlink has them for $70 uninstalled.

1) Can I find them cheaper than this (where)?
2) Do they just slide on, or is there some special prep work that needs to be done to install them?

I just found AHF Motorsports in the Philly suburbs. Anyone used them before? They were charging $55 on ebay for the edge gaurds... Anyone found a lower price?

i got my door trim installed myself after a week of purchase. i had a PWP tsx, and i bought the chrome door trim, it really match up the chrome around the window too! and btw i got it for only $8 ($4 for two pieces) from pep-boy. so far the door trim works very well, the chrome doesn't fade away, everything hold up well.

the door trim had some adhesive tape inside it, so the only thing you have to do is just slide the door trim on your door, and cut it to the right length.

^^^^ I think he's talking about the Acura OEM Stuff, which isn't the, uh, ghetto chrome that you're talking about...

I installed the OEM ones myself, it was simple. There's adhesive with it, it's paint matching, and it's pretty quick. your best bet is to make sure it's all cleaned up before you do it. oh, and you might want to throw some touchup paint on the already nicked parts to protect it...

I got the same chrome door edging from PEP Boys. Seems to hold up well. Had plenty left over to put a protective edge on my homemade lower grill mesh. I wanna say it was around $14.00 for the roll.

I had the RCP edge guards installed by the dealer when I bought the car. Would need to look for their specific charge on what I paid. Happy with them so far.

I think the matching color ones look best, I had standard black ones on my last car, not nearly as classy. Plus one kept falling off, if that happens with these I'd expect the dealer to reattach them for free.

JWhite - curious to see what you paid in the Illadelph. I'm thinking I'll find them on ebay and just install myself, making sure adhesive is included BEFORE I buy!

Thanks for your help everyone. PM me if you have a deal or want to offer some to me.

I looked up my prices when I was researching my Apr06 purchase:

- The Acura website shows the list for the parts as $72, installation for $36.50, $108.50 total.

- Davis Acura (Langhorne) gave me a price of $85
- Turnersville Acura gave me a price of $93

I ended paying (a first glance a digusting) $199 at Sussman Acura. However, what they did was to charge their noticeable-higher accessory prices, but reduce the sale price of the car so that when totalled up, it matched the best price I found.

I think one of the Acura parts sites has links to the installation instructions. You might look and see what's involved (probably just clean the surface and apply the adhesive). Whatever extra I paid was worth it (IMHO), since it was installed at time of vehicle purchase, the accessories should be covered by the 4yr/50k warranty. With that not being the case for you, you might be better off to buy them as cheaply as you can, and install them yourself.
