Leaving it undone for that long wont have any negetive effects. You will probably loose some of your memory settings like your radio presets and your clock. You might even loose the memory seats if you have an 06. I've heard of some people leaving the car for 2 weeks and then when they came back to start it, it was completely dead. So... i'd unplug the ground terminal just to be safe.

You will lose your anti-theft codes for radio and nav (if equipped) so make sure you have them (you should have a card with the codes on it). You will also lose your seat position memory settings (leave it in position 1 so you can easily set position 1 back), radio presets and, if you don't have nav, the clock will need to be reset.

does anyone know where the rest of the stuff gets stored.

by rest i mean:

bluetooth phones, adress books (navi + blue tooth), navi settings, etc...

if they don't get lost, they must be stored on a hard drive or ROM somewhere.

If the car is parked on level ground, leave it in gear, with the parking brake off, so that the pads don't rust onto the rotors (they won't seize, but they're more likely to mark the rotors).

Wow, is all that seriously important? I wasn't able to drive at all for ~ 6 mos. due to an injury - I didn't do anything like disconnect a battery & it was parked on a hill w/ the parking brake on (haven't purchased the TSX yet, so this is a truck - the TSX will fit in the garage). So really, I claim total ignorance, is it very important? Should I have a mechanic check anything out? Started fine, drives fine.

All good suggestions - BUT, it is only for a month. I would leave the battery hooked up. Think about it, it leaves Japan, crosses the ocean, gets transported to your dealer and then sits on the lot for HOW LONG?? My previous diesel truck would sit for 3-4 weeks at a time without being started, I would then take it out for a long drive to recharge the batteries. I would think that a month for the TSX would be fine IMO.

Hmm... i think there are actualyl quite a few things that are left off until it reaches the west coast here. Albeit minor things. But it may possibly include the battery or at least they left the ground terminal disconnected. I've heard of some members here having a dead battery after 2 weeks of just sitting there. Lets not even say a month.

I don't think so, my brother is a longshoreman and when they work a car ship from Japan or Korea, they just fire em up and drive them off the ship (battery & all else are all connected).

Polishing up my crystal ball I see a Red Top 35 in your future. $125.00 and a knock on your door from FedEx and your problem is solved.

Enjoy your trip...

You can hook up a floating charger (if it's parked in the garage or driveway) and keeps the battery fully charged during storage. It doesn't cost much and a lot easier than have to reset codes and various settings. Otherwise, I would still leave the battery connected. A jump start is relatively easy if necessary. A battery pack/jump start device is about $49 at Costco.

Your rotors may totally rust up and wrapped.

Your car will be fine. It comes from the factory on a ship and the whole trip takes like 5 to 6 weeks by the time the dealer gets it. If you're worried about the battery, get a trickle charger.

Just leave it connected. Worse case scenerio the battery goes dead and you need a jump. Best case you start her right up like you only left it for a day. My money goes on the "it starts right up" side.

Do you have anyone around that can crank it once on the second week for you?

I left my car parked for a month and nothing happened. It didn't even start roughly and this was in the winter of 2003-2004, so the battery was new. Best solution is to follow what JTso said.
