Did you guys peel off that blue transparnt protective plastic from the door metal ACURA trim? My car is almost 24K now and always left it on to keep that factory new look.... but been thinking about peeling it off to really able to see the SILVER look.. afterall. whats the use of that silver trim if i just keep the plastic on and never get to see it...

did any of u guys peel it off...? does it make it easier to scratch? or look betteR?

 

I never had it on, even when taking delivery. And it doesn't scratch easily. Mine isn't after all this mileage.

I've left mine on too. I like the look of the blueish silver tint and I don't want to scrath it. People have threatened to peel it off, but they know the consequences if they do, haha

 

The dealership pealed it off, so now I have little pieces of the blue plastic. Everytime I clean the car I find more....

You never really step there, so I won't really get scratched unless you have children or a pet.

mine was peeled off but the dealer didn't do a very good job of it i still see some residue tucked into the sill...i tried to get it out but its really stuffed in there...

lol me too. That and removed the front plate holder.

 

I still got mine with almost 17k miles.

 

Mine came with it off,..but I would have just taken it off anyway.

BTW, what can I use to clean the marks on my radio screen left from the warning sticky that comes on the screen when you get your car?

 

Funny, whenever they receive the car at the dealership, that is on their list of "things to do" for prep'ing the car.

Mine got a little scratched after taking the blue stuff off. But I think the scratches look better than the blue plastic peeling away at the corners.

 

What is wrong with you people? I suppose that some of you have 35 year old brand new couches in your houses under plastic slip covers. You tell me: which looks better? A nice shiny piece of metal, or a nice shiny piece of metal with rotting 2 year old scratched up blue film attached to it?

Make sure you leave that little paper floormat in there, too - you wouldn't want your shoes to actually touch your carpeted floormat. And the little tag hanging out of the glove box - if you remove it, it devalues your car 5%.



And you know that white plastic film they put on the hood and fenders during transport? Whatever you do, DON'T remove that! Don't let the dealer remove it for you, either! It won't be in mint condition anymore! GASP! :shakehead

 

 

I peeled off the blue protective film when I got it home. I thought about leaving it on but decided I liked the silver look better. I left the plastic protective film on my radio scree (non Navi) for about 2 weeks but then took it off because I thought it looked . I figured, its a car, its not going to stay pristine forever, might as well use it and enjoy it. I've picked up a couple of small rock chips in the front a 2 small nicks from other's doors. Although I try to take steps to avoid it and it still bugs me when I find a new one, I've stopped stressing over it.

 

too lazy to do it haha...ill get to it someday. right now it's in the dealers so im driving a tsx loaner. i wonder if they will peel mine off while they service it haha

 

I left mine on just because i thought the blue kinda matched the whole blue light and dash thing.

 

I did this mod awhile back but only on the 2 front doors...

j/k about the mod part.

 

After 4200 miles mine is still on.

I hate all the DAMN scrathes on the trim

I was so glad they left the plastic on ours seats, until I turned on the seat heater--melted the plastic and TV dinnered my @$$ to the OE leather


that was a joke.....our car was a CPO it doesn't have a darn scratch neither will yours remove the plastic. Unless you want to be like my grand parents...

 

My dealership had allready peeled it off before I picked her up... till this day, still shiney as when I got it....after I clean it

 

still have mine on. 21k and no scratches on the film. i told the dealership not to take it off. if they did, they'd owe me a new tsx.

btw, service advisors can get fired for laughing at a customer.

 

My dealership took them off before I picked up my TSX. However, the little plastic piece above the radio screen that instructs you how to put in a CD is still there and I intend never to take it off. Don't ask why because I won't be able to answer you.

Actually when I bought mine, I left that paper mat in for a couple of weeks till I got some plastic liners:

I wish the sills really did come in blue, I got many compliments about them w/ the plastic on . I eventually took it off, now they're just normal sills

My dealership left some of the clear plastic on my car's body panels. To this day, I have not been able to get it off. It looks like a 1-2mm strip of ribbed clearcoat.

They told me that I can get it off with hot water and soap. All I got for my trouble was a blister on my thumb and aggravation. I don't notice it, so it stays.

 

I had remenants of that stuff left on mine also. I tried water and soap to no avail, even scrubbed some of it off with my fingernail. I finally used a claybar and it came off.

 

haha, we are all suffering from "psychosis" .... hell did you guys keep your tag on the passenger side glove compartment that said "Warning..." and its something about seatbelt or airbag? its a yellow tag.

mine is still hanging there..... and oh, the sticker on the headunit is still there...

 

no wonder some of you have such crappy et's with all that extra weight you're carrying!

But since I don't drag race much anyway, this is such a good idea I think I'll shrink wrap my whole car so neither air nor rain nor any external elements or human contact can ever blemish the original finish.

 

Some people left it on there unknowingly and thought that it was an option.

 

i plan on keeping mine on for a while b/c i think the blue hue compliments cg nicely
