Did anyone else receive the claim form for 2004 compressor damage?

We've only owned our '04 for over a year and haven't (knock on wood) had any issues with the AC.

I got a settlement claim form in the mail today to submit a claim for any repairs we have had to the a/c.

We can't claim anything but wondered if anyone else received this?

This is the first time I hear of this.

I see that it only applies to 2004 TSX.

I got mine yesterday...what does one do now? get the A/C fixed before it's too late(meaning the claim, miles and A/C itself?)? I have 66,000ish miles...

This is good for 04 owners. Acura is admitting that there is a problem.

Yes. Just got it yesterday, too. I've only had my '04 for 2.5 years, and it's over the mileage limit. No AC problems, but I think opting out of the class action settlement is the way to go when you're in my situation as you're left with no recourse if you stay in it. I am optimistic that, if I made it this far without any AC issues (105k), mine will last for quite a while longer. From everything I read on this forum this issue only affected a small percentage of the 2004 models.

I received the notice yesterday. However, since my car is already over the maximum miles and age, I am planning to opt out of the settlement.

Honda must know what was wrong with the 04 models, since the settlement only covers that model year. It included other years for other models.

I wish Honda would come clean, and acknowledge and fix the problem. Quality issues with the TSX is one reason I am considering switching to Toyota for my next car.

sounds reasonable for the 2004 TSX owners (plus some other Honda makes involved with the settlement - CR-V's and Odyssey, various years ). As usual, the lawyers got their, er, um..., 'share' from Honda - $2.525 Million.

Sorry I'm kinda confused. I just bought a 2004 TSX on November 17, 2011. Mine only has 53k miles on it. So does this cover anyone who had problems and paid for it already? Since its November/December I haven't turned on my AC.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys,

John
