Question about Gravity Bleeding Brakes

Hey guys,

I am new to the TSX. I just recently sold my S2000 and I wanted to stay in the Honda family since I have had good luck with this brand. I just picked up a 06 ASM w/ 63K miles on it. Everything looks good but I just wanted to get all the fluids done asap. I looked at the brake fluid and it could definitely use a flush.

On the S2000, I used two different methods of getting the old fluid out. I used a Motive Power Bleeder and it was okay and got good results. I tried the other method of gravity bleeding and my brake pedal was rock hard. Almost felt new. The S2000 has a brake proportion vavle and I don't know if the the TSX does or not. I did some reading on and here and some say that the TSX does not do well with a gravity bleed. Any truth to this?

I can do the two man method but I would rather go the gravity bleed route since I had awesome results before.

Thanks!

I just recently did my brakes on my 06 and did a full flush of the fluid which was the original fluid (bad on me). I actually bought one of those reverse bleeder kits by Phoenix but honestly it was a waste of money. I sold it to a work buddy. I used the old tried and true 2-man (actually wife) method. You start at the drivers wheel and go clockwise around the car. I got clear fluid at each wheel. I had no way to activate the ABS but I've since tripped it and heck 99% of the fluid is new and no water or bubbles so I'm happy. The pedal feel is better than before. I think those power bleeders work great if you can make a good seal on the reservoir. If not you may have brake fluid everywhere and it will eat your paint. So the tired and true, and cheap method works best.

I use the two man method as well. My wife and I can bleed a car in about 20 minutes. She is a good sport and has helped me with about 12 brake bleeds on various cars.
