I'm no expert, but I've read that you use aluminum foil to cover the parts that
need to be covered for degreasing.

so what exactly needs to be covered?
not sure.

if you go to the wash and wax forum, and search there, you'll find your answer.

By "de-greasing" are you guys referring to giving your engine a strong H2O PSI spray? I was tempted to do that when I saw this guy at NW Car Wash. He had the hood up and just went to town with the spray gun.

Though highly not recommended for some models, I believe its okay for the Honda, Acura line, if you do decide on giving it a good blast of pressurized water, make sure the engine is running and you don’t concentrate the stream of water in one area, keep it flowing, It would also help to hit it with some sort of OTC degreaser. Anyway I am no expert you should bring it over to our ‘wash and wax’ section.

sensors need to be covered.

you google 'engine bay detailing' or search for it in the off-topic/wash & wax section. i'm sure there are diy's.

Having worked in a detailing shop for a while, I'd strongly suggest not using the pressure sprayer. It's no that it's absolutely going to cause problems but there is significantly increased chance of it. One of the most common problems is water being forced into the electrical connectors which corrodes the contacts and then a month later you suddenly have mystery problems.

A degreasing spray followed up with a sponge and some really soapy water is a safer way to do it.
