DC Header and AEM intake TOO loud?!?!

SO......Saturday night I was pulling out of a bar and as SOON as we pull out of the driveway, a cop pulls us over. I'm thinking to myself at this point, "Great, this cop is just going to be an asshole since we didn't do anything wrong." He comes up to the drivers window and says "I don't even want to see any of your stuff. I just want to let you know that your engine is too loud...and that's unnecessary when there are drunk people walking around here this late at night." WHAT?!? I wasn't aware that my little 4-banger was too loud for city limits? Anyone else ever had a cop harrass you for no apparent reason because of your car? I thought this was absolutely ridiculous.

A Header doesn't add much sound. The OP must have the AEM Shortram because AEM doesn't make a CAI For the TSX. It shouldn't be all that loud but maybe you were on the gas pretty hard when you took off.

You should go to the Comptech Icebox if you need a quiet intake.

Yeah, AEM SRI...this was one of my first mods and I could tell quite a bit of difference when you step on the gas as far as sound goes. But I wasn't revving it all loud or anything. I just took it out of 1st as I normally would and he said it was too loud.

+1 The header added no sound I could detect. The intake on the other hand But even that is pretty sedate unless you get on it really hard. At normal cruising it just adds a bit of a snarl to the engine.

Your cop must be smoking some good shit

That's what I was thinking...He just wanted to see the inside of my car since the outside looks so sexy.

Nope, no ticket! He didn't even want to see my registration or anything. He was like "Just get out of here!"

Don't get me started on this subject......

I have a feeling that if the obnoxiously loud Harleys were a pastime of a particular minority race, it would be outlawed in a second.
