Damn swirls...chips...rocks...argghh

So after this long semester, i've finally gotten a chance to give the car a nice wash and decided it'll be a good idea to use some quick detailer after a long winter. All I can say is...damn.....what happened?! Its endured a lot...and the battle scars show. I've got a bunch of swirls everywhere, scratches, buffs, scuffs, and a few dozen little rock chips on my hood. Now just waiting to go home after finals and whip out that PC....

If the chips bother you that much, you should've invested in a clear bra first bro.....

After that, spend the money on mods, not the other way around.

I know what you mean... you car isn't new anymore. Same with mine, found some rock chips, a small scuff from someone opening their door onto mine (but gentle enough that only the clearcoat got damaged) and a scuff on the rear bumper... arrrrgh!

paint chips are a fact of life man. the sooner you accept it the easier your life will be. haha. avoid tailing people, never drive behind big rigs, and even then, you'd still get a bunch. some are small enough where a little touch-up paint kit will make it go away.

it's just something you have to come to accept, especially in NY. my car gets tapped, dinged, chipped, etc...from side street parking and driving on the highway. my mugen grille takes the brunt of it b/c it's fibreglass and isn't as forgiving as the polyurethane of the bumpers.

For that much, I can do the front clip of my car. The whole left and right fenders, entire hood, any painted surface of the bumper, headlights, fog lights and the backs of the side mirrors.

by giving it a "nice wash" what did you actually do? you need a foam gun, a decent wash like meguiar's gold, a porter cable and some sort of wax (everyone has their preferences), and non-scratching microfiber towels.

it's a solid investment if you're going to wash your car yourself. if you have a run of the mill 2002 silver accord, then you could probably just take it to the automatic car washes and not really worry about it, but if you like your car, you should wash it properly.
