Consumer Guide: TSX best buy in segment
Updated 2005 review, names the TSX and TL best buys in their segments.
http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/n...x.cfm/id/38061
The TSX got the highest test score in the category (and, granted, Consumer Guide's numerical indices are pretty suspect) - ahead of the BMW 3 series, Audi A4, Saab 9-3, MB C-class, etc.

I think the point was that the Nav does complicate adjustments by absorbing some HVAC and sound controls. Not a big issue, of course, but an issue nonetheless.

They also added points for "value." it is not a totally objective test, and the scores are determined by some system that they don't release. Like I said, I'm not convinced by their numerical scores at all.

TSX owners with the Navi, do you use voice prompts alot? I know that I am going to buy one with navi, but was curious how often most people actually use the voice prompts. Does it miss understand you very often? I noticed that they mentioned that in there test, just curious.

Not true. For example, the Nissan/Infiniti systems don't do that at all. Besides, I think it is reasonable for CG to at least raise the issue.
Personally, I'd rather have real buttons instead of menus, but I don't find the system hard to live with at all.
JWB - I suspect that these frequent media reports about the Nav not doing a good job of recognizing commands has more to do with testers not knowing the commands then anything else. If you use the right commands, and speak clearly, 9 times out of 10, it will go as expected.
