Comptech filter and K&N oil

Hello,

I'm installing the Icebox with the foam filter.

I don't have enough of the foam filter oil.

Can I use the K&N red oil ? Is it the same stuff? Is there any harm in doing it?

Thanks!

Don't you have the can they gave you with the Icebox?? That should easily be enough. If not you are using too much.

FYI there have been a couple of posters here who said that the Comptech filter isn't even as good as the OEM filter. I have the Icebox but I just left the OEM filter in it. My

Can you use the Comtech lid with the stock filter?

It seems too big...

The lid seems too big. The stock filter isn't as thick as the Comptech foam filter. I'm afraid it won't make a good seal.

Use some silicone grease on the rubber gasket around the filter.

I couldn't fit my OEM filter in the comptech lid too. The integrated rubber hose of the lid 'hits' the filter when i try to screw down the box. Is there a newer design?? FYI, i ordered mine a month ago.

Mine doesn't fit either. I'm gonna use the stock box for now. At least I get the benefits of no resonator.

I can fitted my oem filter to my icebox tool and I have my icebox for 2 months. But after I put the oem filter on, my car is very loud on 3000rpm-5000rpm but dun have the sluggish power during hot weather. And I didn't put ne oil on the filter will that cause the noise?

Could you please type that in English? I'm not sure my interpretation is correct.

Thanks in advance.

Given that Comptech is not yet back on line, what are the downsides of using K&N filter oil on the Comptech foam filter? I noticed the oil is red, and will stain the yellow filter.

Has anyone done this?
