Changing brakes?

Changing brakes?

I am changing the brakes on my 2004 TSX just want to know if they are like every other standard brake on Jap cars i have changed 6 sets of brakes on 99 maxima, 2001 Maxima, 04' G35 sedan, 03 s2k and i just want to know if these are the same or if there is anything diffrent that needs to be done

ok cool so its the same then thanks a lot

oh and should i change my rotors they dont seem warped i am changing the pads because they are making that annoying metal screeching noise

I think the rule of thumb is that if you change your pads, have your rotors turned so they age together, howerver if you have slotted rotors that is a different story as you cannot have them turned.

Not necessarily. This is recommended, but if you seat the pads properly to the rotor surface, you shouldn't have to turn the rotors if they aren't warped.

If you've done that many on Japanese cars. This should be a peice of cake for you. If you are going to do a brake job... can i recommend upgrading while you're at it? It wont cost you much more if more at all to upgrade pads while you're at it. If you've got money, upgrade rotors too.

The Hawk pads seem to be popular here, some have even used matrix pads with excelent results. Brembo and powerslot are the two recommended aftermarket rotors here for the most part. Both are available on tirerack.com for a good price.
