Changed all interior bulbs to LED's - tons of pics!!

Hello all,
I just bought a 2008 Acura TSX in premium white pearl about a month ago, and aside from getting the car tinted, I also changed out all the interior bulbs to LED's. I didn't like the yellow or the fact that it was pretty dim, so I went to work. I am not a fan of most LED's because they are too blue, so I started searching around and found http://www.v-leds.com/. I decided to go with them because they sell many of their LED's in a 5000k color temperature, which is pure white! Some of you guys like the blue (most often 6000k), and that's cool, but not for me. Also, none of the pictures were altered or Photoshopped in anyway. Pictures you were taken with my Canon S90 camera with no flash at about 2am in almost pure darkness. In person, the LED's look pure white but they do look a little blue in the pics. Ok, on to the pictures:

Front map lights - Qty. 2 DE3175 LED's in 5k
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p8761206.html

Rear dome light - Qty. 1 DE3175 LED in 5k
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p8761206.html

Vanity lights - Qty. 2 (one for each mirror) Fuse-type bulb or vanity bulb in 5k, don't know the number
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/V...-p7114848.html

Courtesy lights or puddle lights (lights in the front doors) - Qty. 2 (one on each door) 194 or 168 LED's in 5k
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/C...-p7114849.html

License plate lights - Qty. 2 194 or 168 LED's in 5k
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/C...-p7114849.html

Trunk light - Qty. 1 194 or 168 flank style LED's in 5k
http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p8825900.html

Like I said, all my bulbs in my car are 5k. If you want more blue, you can order the 6k instead. The license plate bulbs and courtesy/puddle lights are offered in a brighter option if you want more light, but I think a brighter light may be a little much - http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p8761053.html At the same time, the map lights and the dome light are offered in a slightly dimmer version if you want a more subdued look - http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p6754410.html I tried these dimmer LED's in the 2 map lights and the dome light as well, but it wasn't bright enough for my tastes. Just like the 5k's, the 6k's are also offered in two levels of output if you like the bluer color.

I couldn't be happier with the color or the output of these LED's, so I hope this helps some people who are trying to decide on which LED's work in our cars and what color options are out there!

I like it, looks very clean. How much did it cost? Is that a shadow of some sort in one of the pics near the rear wheel?

Oh, and welcome to the forum! Now we need some pics of the car in the daytime.

I have 5500k bulbs from superbrightleds and autolumination. I think I like these pure 5000k bulbs better as they remind me of the daylight light that halogen bulbs produce. This is a more classy looking white in my opinion. Going to buy the trunk and license plate ones to see if they look better than my current setup.

Total with shipping was about $80, but like xradman said, you can enter discount code "DRIVEN" during checkout and save 15%. With that coupon, you could replicate my setup for about $70.

And yes, that is a shadow on the rear left wheel/fender from the usually non-working street light that decided to kick on right as I was taking my last few pictures!!

I seen a picture of someone that redid all their interior lights with LEDs and I had to have it lol. I was wanting to get mine like you have yours and I guess I ordered the wrong ones and they ended up being completely blue and I was mad and afraid they were going to look retarded but they ended up looking really awesome. Everyone that sees them compliments me on them the LEDs really accent the leather.

They dim to about half power and then just shut off. I believe LED's require a minimum voltage to run and when that voltage drops below the minimum, they stop dimming and just shut off.

I bought mine from ijdmtoy for the license plate and they still seem a bit purple/blue compared to the ones on the Lexus/BMWs. I also made sure to get the superbright ones.

These ones look a litte better so may give them a try or will just go get them directly from a Lexus dealer. I think the RX300 uses the same type of bulb for the plate.

You will pay and arm and a leg for the OEM Lexus bulbs. I bet you can replace all the interior bulbs + license plate bulbs with VLED's LEDS cheaper than you can buy just a pair of OEM Lexus license plate bulbs.

You get to those from inside the trunk lid. There are 2 rubber pads you will see by opening the trunk lid that can be removed by pulling the outer part of the pad out, and then slide to completely remove them. Then, there are 3 clips on the bottom of the trunk, which would be at the base of the license plate if looking from the outside, that can be removed simply by unscrewing them and then pull them out. This will release the bottom of the lining which will then allow it to be peeled up revealing the license plate bulbs connectors as well as the reverse lights. The license plate bulb connectors are held in by two tabs that you will see when you access them. I hope this helps!

I've used quite an a of amount LEDS here and there.

From my own exp. it doesnt really matters between 5000K or 6000K.. It just depends on the companies that make them.
Same thing goes with HIDS, you can be buying a 5000K HID from one company and 6000K from another company, they can actually end up looking the same. ==

No offense to OP, but people cannot just determine by just looking at pictures for lights. Cameras tend to show a little different in person. lol.
People who have never bought stuff from VLEDS, its better to just get ONE set first to check it before you throw in to get the entire set.

I do know IJDMTOY people in person. They do have leds that is blue-ish, purple-ish.. but they DO have ones that are in pure white. It all depends on which you get.

I have never used superbrightleds so I couldn't tell you. But after receiving these from VLED's, the quality is top notch and the color is perfect for me so and I will stick with them for future LED purchases. And I just realized SuperbrightLED's is about a 5 min. drive from me!

I purchased the pure white ones but they still have a slight tint to them. Maybe they sent the wrong ones?

+1. These are really high quality. The light (5000K) is close to pure white as I've seen. They are a very good match for our HID headlights. I purchased the same set as OP and they are a perfect fit.

Do you still remember which one you got??

Because, when i buy LEDS, i like to go over to his place to check out the color/brightness even though i may end up getting it somewhere else.

But as of now, My interior lighting and my side market LEDS are from him and yes, they are just pure white.

Few days ago, he gave me a few samples, which are not in the market selling yet, free~

I'll be posting those up after i get my car fixed. (but probably in another site).

Since you ordered the same ones I have from VLED's, they will come individually packaged with labels on them so you know you received exactly what you ordered.

Here is a side by side comparison. The left is from ijdmtoy and the right is from vleds. I get more light out of 4 leds from vleds then 12 from the ijdmtoy.com. The vleds are definitely brighter and more of a pure white compared to the slightly purple ones from ijdmtoy.

Nice pictures! I recently bought a 5-LED set from eBay, from the seller named "JDM".

Here is a direct link to his website: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-X...#ht_8607wt_945
