I will go with $35,200 - $750 = $34,450.

Still can't Plunge...
I tried to close a deal at my Regina dealership today on a TSX Auto without navi. I had my CCC invoice cost report in hand and some snippets of deals reported in this forum (high 35,000's to low 36,000's). The sales manager called all the deals reported in this forum questionable and inaccurate (am I surprised??) as he is sure other Acura dealerships in Canada would never take less than $1,500 over invoice cost. So I can't get below $37,350 (with block heater, rear splash guards, wheel locking nuts) if I buy here...at least not today.
Do any of you Albertans know of a good Edmonton dealership that would close a deal in the low $36,000's (or better, of course ). I was thinking of travelling there anyway in the next couple of weeks. Why not drive a TSX home!!

year end
I would be surprised if dealers didn't come down. The '06s are near an end, so they are rapidly depreciating.
As an aside, I got a CITI bank Platinum credit card, which gives a 2% rebate on any new car (any manufacturer selling in Canada). I have had it for <1 yr and put everything on it (groceries, gas, plane tickets, phone). I drive a 04 tsx and love it, but we just used our rebate for a '06 6-speed miata (mx-5) for my wife. They just cut me a cheque for >$700. Not a bad deal for any of your guys thinking about buying in the next couple of years. If you're buying a tsx, get the invoice price (available on here) and offer them 3-4% over. They should take it. We paid 1K over invoice. TSX still sells well so it may be a battle, but stick to your plan and walk away if they want more - they will call you.

You're right...they DID call back today, but we weren't in...
Excited... I would definitely be interested in you checking with your dealership. I've got a ride up to Edmonton on the long weekend if I need one....I'll send you a message right now with more details. I really don't see my dealership going as low as 36,000

let us know how it works out. i told dilawri i wouldn't say anything negative about them but that doesn't mean i have to say anything positive as i feel i could've been treated a LOT better. Go outta province! Our 2 acura dealerships are grossly sub-par.
I'm gonna be in the market next year for either a 325xi or the newer TSX. We'll see who gets my business then. Either the Bema motorsports (the local BMW dealership) or some dealer in Calgary/Edmonton.

But now you know! I'm looking at these things carefully now, after over-paying for my previous cars.

Interesting, I helped a friend of mine negociate a really good deal. We had a ceiling that we wouldn't go over (based on blackbook, he bought a used), and I made him stick to the plan. We got up and left... and we got called back and he got the price he wanted.
I think it's easier when you're not emotionally attached. Perhaps I'll bring my friend with me when I buy, and he can keep me "straight." My husband and I will probably both be overly emotionally attached, so we wouldn't be able to help each other!
Also, I'd probably add, "I'm in the no rush to buy, I don't mind traveling far to get it, but I'll buy if I get the price I want."

Also, if you want something in particular (e.g. a particular color combo that's not as frequently made), I think there's a good chance you will end up paying more. That's because they know you want that one.
I expect *not* to be able to get the very best price, since I am wanting one color combo only. (black with parchment)
One of my colleagues bragged about how they only got $300 over invoice (another car). Yeah, but I wouldn't want that trim level/color combo, even with that price!

Went back to them in March of this year, caught them at month-end, happened to get a car dealer in the used sales department who was filling in for one of the regular salespersons and walked out that night with $40,100 OTD for '06 NBP on black no Navi, 6MT, rear mud guards. Picked up the car 3 days later.
Looks like somebody has beat my price. Congrats Chito - you're going to LOVE that car!

When I went to another Acura dealer recently, it was the same thing:
"Our TSXs sell out before year's end."
I guess it depends a lot on how many are left on the lots at year's end. Doesn't seem like a lot in at least some Ontario dealerships...

It really depends on your area too. In Calgary, we only have 2 Acura dealers and both of them had really high demands for TSX.
The result... they weren't able to cut me anything lower than $37k for a 06 CGP non-Navi auto TSX.
Maybe I should've driven up to Edmonton to look there...

Did you find the buying experience good there too?
Have any salesperson to recommend?
Thanks.

Didn't care about the buying experience as I considered $36500 a fair deal and would not pay a penny more. I simply went there because I live nearby but I knew I could get the same deal at Acura2000 in Brampton.
I would recommend my salesman - he was decent and very low pressure. Let me know if you want a name.
