Which Car to get?

So my girlfriend has finally decided to get a new car after a couple years with her RSX. It's either a 330ci or G35 coupe, and its gotta be automatic as well since she doesnt drive stick. She wants a car now(soon) so she's not going to wait for the next gen 3series but i've pursuaded her to buy in october when next year's model comes, but since shes leaving the country for a while, shes gonna make the decision now. I originally asked her to get the G35coupe but lately she's changed her mind more towards a 330ci though.

any opinions? and i did mention the TSX initially but she soundly rejected it, i thought it would be a good car for her. and any price difference is not an issue between the two cars.

I'm not crazy about the look of the 3 series sedan, but the coupe is another story.

I'd get the 330. But don't forget, the 05 G35 will have 300HP and a revamped int.

Hmmm, actually 300HP and a revamped int I think just swayed my note to the G.

Hey Gilbo ballsy question on a TSX site. Only you could get away with it. Kudos!

How about posting a pic of the new interior of the G so we can decide? Also how about the Edmunds TMV's so we can compare $$ to $$?

well $$$ is not an issue to her and neither is reliaibility or stuff like that since its only going to be kept for 3yrs max knowing her, prolly even less.

Do G35 coupes have the same tire issues that the Z has? That would be a pain in the ass?

Is winter driving an issue? Backseat space?

That new Int does'nt look much diff from the old int?

But because its a girl drivin it, she won't need the 300HP. Besides, since she's going out with you, the snob factor may be of greater importanace to her . get the BMW.

domn, who is wondering how Gilbo dated someone who drove a Honda product?

Did you vomit each time she picked you up?

i dont hate them, i just dont see them as something desirable to me right now. I did once own a 01 Lude and S2K if that means anything eventhough i didnt own them for any long periods of time.

Poll: Who here thinks that gilbo is lying that he has a girlfriend? :fingerfawk:

All kissing aside, both would be good cars.

I'd be tempted by the G35C as long as it didn't break in 3 years. Fun, thoroughly impractical, and damn good looking.

The 330ci just doesn't have the "presence" the G35C does.

But I suppose it all comes down to, which one does she like driving the most (fits well in the seats, blah blah). I had to discount some cars in my choices because I don't fit in the car well.

So my vote goes for the G35C.

i would go for the g35c too, because i love the car and everyone on here knows i've been wanting to get a g35c and trade in the TSX.

btw, lung, what did you mean by that the g35c might break in 3 years? does nissan/infiniti have long term bad reliability issues?

I don't know. I've been hearing things about the 350Z transmissions, tire wear, etc. Just something to look at. I'm not singling anything out. I plain just don't know.

If there were only 2 cars in the world? A white 330i ZHP (Performance Package) 6M with HIDs, sunroof and the Alcanara seats.

Otherwise, A TSX and $14,000 (US$) cash.

I can't stand any of Nissan's French-inspired styling!

My vote is with the BMW 330. The 3 series is the benchmark that many car manufacturers strive to meet. The G35 is a great car, but not many girls really cares about the HP/TQ/ and 0-60 times.

Then again, you are asking this question on a enthusiast website, so of course the HP/TQ/ and 0-60 times matter.

Well, if money no real object (decently equipped 330 ~45k), go for it and get M3.

For the 2005 G35 coupe, only the 6-speed manual will get the 295hp and 19", the auto stays the same. Tell her to learn to drive manual

If she's getting auto, mind as well get a 330ci SMG

That 330 is going to look real dated by next year when the E90 4 series comes out.

Speaking of which, have you guys seen the e90 testing video at the ring? http://autospies.com/article/index.a...8&categoryId=1

They're masked but it's cool nonetheless.

I was going to vote for the G35, but since your interested in the SMG get that. Then you can offered biased comparisons whenever Acura puts out their SMG (coming someday as per Oracle - I think starting with the RDX).

If they could be had with manual transmissions, I'd say get the Bimmer. But since we're auto-only, I'll say get the G35. Auto BMWs are not nearly as fun.

I can't agree. The 3 series is the last BMW that hasn't yet been bangeled so get them while you can, before their ruined that is.
