Car delivery

I am in the process of buying a 2007 PWP TSX but the dealer needs to locate the exterior/interior color combination I want. I just spoke with the dealership and they are telling me the car could potentially come with 75-100 miles on the odo since it is likely coming from NJ .

Has anyone had a similar issue? I am about to tell the dealer to either flat bed my car or the deal is off. Should I raise hell about this?

Coming from NJ? I'll drive it out to you.

On a serious note, I'd request to have it flat bedded.

when I bought my 06 tsx in Nov. 06 I wanted Milano red/ebony 6 spd w/nav. I bought it from a dealer in Pa. The closest one they could find was from a dealer in NJ. When i got the car it had 138 miles on it. Since i wanted that color that mileage did not matter to me. How bad do you want it? I now have 17,000 miles on the car and have no regrets. Are you willing to pay to have it delivered by flat bed. No one is forcing you buying the car-remember pickings are getting slim-especially PWP with ebony int. 08's are soon arriving. Why raise hell-it is not their fault.

True, but funny thing is that the saleman never mentioned that it could come with that many miles on the car. I guess its the fact that you are buying a new car and for it to come with 100+ miles on it puts a sour taste in my mouth. Also I've bought a TL from the same dealer and since my TL came with 50 miles on it I was somewhat surprised when I took delivery of that car.

Would it be reasonable to renegotiate the price? maybe even get something extra for the extra miles?

I don't see what the problem is. Some of our color combos/transmission choice/navi or non navi can be very difficult to find. My CGP/Ebony/6MT/NAVI was no where to be found except in Westchester, PA. It only had 4 miles there but by the time it got to me it had close to 150. It did not bother me because my salesman went to pick it up himself and i trusted the guy. I could've gotten an AT, but I wanted the 6MT, so the 6MT was what I got. I have no regrets to this day.

Congrats Wilbur69!

I had the same thing happen to me. I wanted the RBP w/ parchment but the closest was 83 miles away. I got an excellent deal on the car, however, I asked for free window tinting and got it.

I know that it's nice to get the vehicle w/ single digits on the odometer but I've only had that happen once. Mainly because I pick color combos that are not common in my area.

I say ask for something. Even the transport by flatbed.

Good luck and enjoy!!

the dealer included wheel locks, door-edge guards, trunk tray, mud guards, painted-on pinstripes and lifetime oil changes and tire rotations. I not sure but dealers can get cars from other dealer in a 200 mile radias. I am sure you can get some goodies expecially since you already bought a car from them. Those 50 miles could have come from test drivers. ALWAYS PAYS TO ASK-NICELY. YOU WILL GET MORE THAN WITH ATTITUDE.

I'm in the same situation. But I decided to settle on CGP with ebony(navi), i wanted CGP with quartz---but that's no where to be found in my area.

I pick up the car Thursday....the dealer said it has 19 miles on it. I was told anywhere between 10-30 miles is acceptable; anything less is bad....is that true?

I read that a new car with less than 10 miles on it is risky...not all parts may have been tested completely ect...

uhhh no... the miles on a new car are not a result of the manufacturer's testing process.. where the hell did you hear that from?

anything over 4 is considered bad because those are usually test drive miles. the 4 miles are from transporting the car to the dealership.

I bought mine with 1 mile on it. The salesman said it was his first car sold at 1 mile. Having that many miles on it means that it was a test drive car and expect people roughing around with it. Also if they are driving it to you, many of the salesman don't give a crap about the car so they redline it, burn tires, short shift, abuse the hand brake, and overall mis-treat the car. Remember, the first couple hundred of miles set the tone of your engine!

I wouldn't sweat it, I just picked up my 07 with 140 miles on it.... wanted nothing but 6spd so they were able to locate one in new hampshire and had to drive it down... doesn't bother me a bit...

got mine (07/6mt/navi) from CT. Really wanted this combo so the dealer drove it up about 100 miles. Really nothing wrong with that

I do not know what dealer you go to but we have bought numerous cars that had to be brought to our selling dealer from another one. we put way over 100,000 miles on our cars-never had any problems with the engine. Our tsx had 138 miles on it-it now has 17,000+miles-no regrets- bought 10 cars from the same dealer and they have been excellant-

Can i ask you where you are located? and also is the car a manual w/ navi? because that is the car I am looking for and every dealer has told me that car does not exist in the market anymore. a 2007 pwp manual w/ navi.... Damn stealerships.

i am located in queens, ny but i went out to rallye in Long Island. the car is going to be auto w/ navi

looks like i shouldnt worry too much about the miles being on the car, but atleast the dealer is willing to work on something if its going to come with 75-100+ miles on it

well at least nobody was lying to me. if you are in queens, anyway you can drive the car yourself from jersey? I would be worried if somebody else is driving the car in its first hundred miles.

What did they do? flatbed it from the manufacturer to the truck, from the truck to the boat, from the boat to another truck, and from the truck to your dealer? And obviously, your dealership forgot to do the test drive to make sure everything is in order.

Cars usually have around 4 miles when they get to the dealer, and they need a couple more depending on how much time the dealership spends on it to test it.

As for the OP, flatbed it if you can. You don't want someone else to drive it...maybe they'll tailgate trucks and give you some paint scratches, or perhaps abuse your engine or transmission.
