break in time period/oil change

i have a confession. it has been 9 months that i've had my car and still haven't hit the break-in period of 5000 km. the reason being was because i was travelling europe and going to school, etc.

SO, its probably pretty bad that i haven't broken it in yet.. but what should i do? change the oil now? i'm at 4200km. OR should i wait to hit the 5000km to change the oil since i know there is some special break-in fluid in the original oil.

tHANKS!! and i'm SOrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy!

I know folks will disagree with me but I'd wait until I either hit 5000 or 1 year and then just do the oil change then.

No need to be sorry. Its your life, live it. Heck, I'd travel to Europe.

I would say do a search b/c there has been a lot of discussion. The good news, you can change the oil anytime you want at this point, but I would change it now. Go synthetic and enjoy.

FYI, it has been widely disputed about the oil, but here is the skinny... the extra special stuff in the oil at the moment is from the assembly lube (high grade gear oil) and extra stabilizer (boron), so nothing too special.
