Braking noise

Whenever I brake, theres a screeching noise that occurs. I took it to National Tire and battery and they took off the wheels and checked it. They said the pedals look like they are brand new and it doesnt look like theres any problems with it.

Any ideas what could be wrong? is it a common TSX problem?

Are the pads original? Sometimes aftermarket pads will make some noise due to the material used. Some other things to check are hardwares, shims, or debris such as a small rock caught in between the pad and rotor.

I am not the original owner but the mechanic said they look like they have been replaced recently. It doesnt look like there are any rocks or anything between the pads and rotor. Anything I can do myself or would i have to take off the pads?

Well the lease you could do is grease the hardwares and shims to see if it'll help.

Switch to greenstuff brake pads. Or if not ceramic pads. Reduces the amount of buildup and noise from braking.
