Bluetooth usage on TSX

Since the TSX doesn't support phonebook transfer, and there doesn't seem to be a way to make it just work like a headset; I am currently dialing the call with my phone, then transferring it to the car. This is obviously annoying, and almost defeats the purpose of the handsfree, but I like the in car better than my Motorola H700 headset.

Anyone got some advice on this? How is everyone using the car's bluetooth?

And don't just say manually enter the phonebook, I mean it will only hold 50 names, and unfortunately, I regularly call more than 50 people.

I typically don't call too many people while driving but if I do, I use the method you spoke of. Mainly, I use Bluetooth to answer calls I get while driving. My commute normally isn't more than 15 minutes long so I'm not in there much anyways. I use my Treo 650 with the car.

I agree. I don't talk much while driving. So the few i do talk to most, about 15 are programmed into the car. Its all voice done so I don't use the phone at all. Its easier than transferring the call from the handset... but now its at the point I don't remember where my cell is ever.

I use this method also; I really don't need to call more than 30 regular numbers. I know where the phone is only because reception improves in our area the higher the cellpone is in the car. In my experience the voice-only works well once you have it set up.

I'm pretty sure this topic has come up before. It all just depends on your phone's compatibilty to Acura's HFL.

My Samsung D900 connects to the car the moment I turn on the engine. If I dial any numbers on my cellphone or select from my cellphone's address book and hit "send", the call will automatically transfer to my car's HFL when the call connects. I do not have to manually transfer the call to the HFL.

I have slowly started to throw my most called numbers into the car. I will just transfer the rest of the calls.

Pain in the arse, but I've programmed most of mine into the navi and can push the CALL button from there. If I don't have an address, I just plug in something random. Four or five button presses but still don't need to fumble around with my phone.

Why would you need to have access to more than 50 names while in the car? If you really do, you are clearly doing too much talking and probably not paying enough attention to driving.

Honestly, just use the phonebook in the car. It's the only way for the time being. Acura may update to a phonebook transfer method in the future, but for now, you're stuck with what you have.
