Bluetooth phones

Does anyone have any experience with bluetooth phones? I'm going to pick one up before my TSX arrives so the dealer can program it and I'm wondering if they're all the same or is there certain features I should look for. Any help appreciated!!

I'm assuming I'll have to brush and floss the tooth, any reccomendations on brushes, toothpaste, floss etc? On the TL forums a lot of the guys are using Turtle blue toothpaste, maybe I'll try that!!

I'm serious about help with the phone. Thanks.

Get a Sony Erickson K750. Best phone out there with Symbian OS and very user friendly interface. My friends Bluetooth Motorola phones isn't as user friendly. I can't figure out how to even use the BT feature.

Only 2006+ TSX will have bluetooth. Are you getting an 2006 model?

No programming by the dealer should be needed. You basically just have to enable the bluetooth connection on your phone and have it search for any available bluetooth connections. Then you enter in a security code in your phone that authorizes the connection with the car. That's it!

Just like everyone is saying. You don't need any special phone. Just one that has bluetooth 1.0 or above. Pretty much every phone with bluetooth should be fine. The newer ones I believe have bluetooth 1.2 and should be backwards compatible to the lower standard.

Most bluetooth phones should work just fine.

The SE T616 works fine with the RL as I would imagine would be the case with both my Motorola V80 and my RAZR.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, my dealer didn't say it had to be programmed, that was my mistake, but he did say if I bring the phone in when I pick up the car he will help me "pair" it which I understand is very easy. So there are no additional fees to my phone provider for me using bluetooth, is that correct?

I own my own phone now and have no contract just pay a monthly service fee, I'll just replace my phone with a BT compatible and continue. Thanks.

Everything above is correct, there are no special requirements for the phones except that they support a handsfree profile.

Please remember that when your Treo 650 fails to work, or works poorly, or forgets to work... that it's not the car's fault!

Go to HandsFreeLink.com for a list of compatible phones

I wonder if you can program the memory seats while using the bluetooth technology, travelling down a new road taking advantage of the new navi features, at a faster rate of acceleration due to the increased horsepower, illuminated by the built in fog lights?

Still Excited

(I will be checking with our Company's cell phone provider to help me upgrade my current cell phone to a bluetooth one most compatable with the TSX)

Excited, that's the phone I ended up with. You must be with Telus, that's who I'm with but it's an Alberta company. I picked up the phone yesterday and haven't stopped playing with it. Not cheap though!!!

Yes I am with Telus. I won't get my phone until the TSX arrives, as my current phone matches the hands free unit of my current vehicle. I'm looking forward to getting it and playing with the bluetooth on the TSX.

Later today I'm going out to look at iPods. I understand them but haven't played with them a lot. I may buy the nano but want to check out if my old eyesight can read the 1.5" screen. If I do buy one, I will also get the Acura Music Link when it comes out late this year.

Excited

See if your company will opt for the E815. Basically it's the same phone, but with a much more stable firmware. I've had both V710 and E815, and the E815 crashes a lot less. The V710 locked up on me several times.

You can check out phones at www.howardforums.com. Lots of cell phone info there.
