That Blue LED mood light in the TSX may keep us awake

News story

Basically some people at RPI are thinking that blue LEDs convince our brain in to thinking it's morning instead of night which helps people stay awake when driving late at night.

Acura already took the liberty of giving us a blue LED mood light, so who knows, it may be helping keep us awake.

I originally spotting this story on Slashdot for all the other nerdy TSXers out there...

Now I can tell my passengers the blue LED I installed in the center CD pocket isn't just for show. It's a preventative measure.

Hmm. I wonder what color makes drivers sleepy, and if they're already installed in Toyotas and Lexuses.

Yes, it will keep your CDs awake by convincing them it's morning; unless you open it up so you can see it.

I replaced my CD pocket with a miniature Jambi.

If i wanted a light to keep me awake, a bright white light would do the trick. Blue LEDs arent really that much, especially if my eyes are closed anyways.

1. White lights constantly on in your car might make it difficult to see while you drive when it's dark. Something to remember when you start driving.
2. Read the article
