Blackberry Pearl Problems
I did a search and could not really find anything on this issue. I had a razr, which paired with HFL fine, but now that I try and pair my new Blackberry Pearl it does not work. It will connect and disconnect repeatedly. I have tried the soft reset and deleting the phone from the car to no avail. Does anybody have a solution? Thanks in advance for the help.

First, the obvious questions: Have you successfully paired it with HFL, entered the password and allowed HFL as a trusted device?
I have a Pearl and it pairs, communicates, broadcasts info to the MID, and does everything fine. I would suggest refreshing the Pearl device if it is having problem, either with a firmware update (are you on the latest firmware) or a factory reset. Just have your contacts and settings saved to your computer first with the Blackberry software.
Good luck. It does work, you've just got a problem in the system somewhere.

Thanks for the response. I have paired it correctly, following all the requisite steps, but it continues to connect then disconnect. This is going to sound like a dumb question, but I just got the pearl two days ago and do not know how to update the firmware. I really need it to work as I travel a ton for my job and the HFL is a huge blessing. Thanks again.

I have the pearl its not really a great phone. might just be the one I got, because its erasing all my text msgs, call list, and the earpiece stopped working. My wife's pearl hasnt had any problems yet, and we bought them the same time. Guess I just got the bad one.

Other than the blue tooth problems the pearl has been a good phone. In my limited usage there seems to be no problems with the predictive text and it's nice to have a more sleek blackberry than the old clunky ones.

The BT issue with the Pearl is a random, but known issue. A warranty replacement should fix it. (been there, done that, fixed the issue)
Also, having a 7290, Pearl, 8800 & now a Curve, while logic would dictate that the curve is difficult to type on because of its small size, IMO, it's just as easy to type on as the 7290 was, which would be my benchmark. "try it, you'll like it!"
