Maybe Acura just isn't doing too well in my part of CT. I don't know.

There's literally a 3-series everywhere. Accords are even worse. I do usually see a 1 or 2 TSX's on my way to work (so I exaggerated when I said 5 tops per week). Yesterday, it dawned on me that I didn't see a single TSX, but I had seen a ton of BMW's. There are 3 other people on my street that own a 3-series (and I live on a relatively short street). No one else owns a TSX on my street.
It's just nice having a car that you don't see every where.

the 3 series and audi a4 on the other hand have been out for many years, with multiple models and engine choices for each. obviously there are more of them on the road, they make more. in a few years, the TSX will be a dime a dozen also, it's cool we're on the front end of it, but it's a very popular and in-demand car.

anyone else notice that sometimes, you don't really notice a car even existed until you go test drive it or research it or buy it, then you start noticing them more?
i think that's part of the reason why the TSX "seems" rare. i'm sure it is rare in some areas, but i wouldnt call it rare anymore in new jersey/nyc. i see a couple per day easily. yesterday i passed by 3, and today, i've seen 2 or 3 already. we'll see how many more on the way home.

there are a bunch in toronto, but they're still not what i'd call popular... nothing compared to a civic/accord, corolla... or any other 'popular' car that alot of people have... it's rare enough for me when people think it's a TL (dumbasses lol) or don't even know what kinda car it is...

Granted I see 10 times more Accords, Altimas, TL's, Camry's and BMW's than I do TSX's so I agree it does make you feel some what happy you got a less common car.

Around my area (Western Nassau County, Long Island NY) everyone seems to have the Infiniti G35, and the Nissan Altima.
The TL is more common than the TSX, at least around here. I see a lot more TLs than TSXs. The MDX is fairly common as well. I have not seen anyone with an RDX yet.
There are 2 TL owners on my block, I'm the only one who has a TSX.
I like the relative rarity of the TSX, when I see another TSX on the road I flash my beams or do some other gesture.

In the bay area i haven't seen too many, but when i was in redmond for the summer i would see 5 or 6 per day. I was surprised how popular they were up there. I guess once I got on here it was confirmed by the numerous members from the puget sound area too.
I did think my color was unique b/c i hadn't seen another GBM up there or here, but then there's grifters picture....

I saw a GBM up in the Bay Area, the only other one I've seen in California. Maybe it was yours.

It's a nice feeling to have a different car than everyone else. On my commute to work and even just driving around town, I see at most maybe 5 TSX's in a week. If I had gotten a Honda Accord, I'd see probably 10 Accords before I even made it to the highway.
How great can you feel about your car if everyone and their mother has the same one as you? I could have gotten a BMW, and by all accounts, they're great cars, but there are so many 3-series on the road it's ridiculous. It makes me feel even better about my decision to buy my TSX.

Let's face it, the TSX is about as rare a $30k pseudo lux/sport sedan as you are going to find.

I'm in central CT... about as central as you can get actually. That day I was talking about, I drove to work in Bristol. I exaggerated a little bit when I said I only see a max of 5 per week, but I certainly don't see 3 or 4 per day... not even close.
Maybe it has something to do with when I drive to work. Most of my shifts are 12 hours, so I have to be at work by 8 (I actually get there at 7:30 though because my day goes smoother if I get there early), and I leave at 8 PM. Therefore, I'm on the road before the heaviest morning traffic, and I come home well after evening rush hour traffic. Maybe since I drive at times with fewer cars on the road, I see less TSX's than someone would normally.
Regardless... I still see many more Accords and 3-series (even the new style 3-series) than I do TSX's. Although, 2 of every 3 TSX's I do see are the same color as mine (CGP).

I would say when i first bought my car in 2004 I rarely EVER saw another TSX up until about the beginning of this year, 2006.
TL's are freakin everywhere here in the D.C. area. Kinda pisses me off because I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to trade my TSX in for a TL! Hahaha. I'm such a sell out.
The TL's just a nicer car all around... let's be honest.

It depends on what you're looking for in a car whether a TL is nicer than a TSX.
I could have gotten a TL. The extra money wouldn't have been a problem at all. However, now that the '06 TSX has bluetooth, aux jack, and all the other nice improvements, I chose to stick with the TSX. I prefer the 4-cylinder due to its fuel efficiency, and compared to my '97 Integra, the TSX feels pretty powerful. The handling makes it fun to drive too.
Every once in a while I think that I should have gotten the TL, but when I ask myself why I think that, the answer usually has more to do with me wanting the prestige of the more expensive, luxury car than it has to do with something I find lacking in the TSX.

I don't see too many TSXs around mostly, but if I drive through a more expensive/wealthier area, then I do see a lot more. At work, I see probably more G35s parked than TSXs. And when I do see a TSX, almost none of them have the body kit, so at least that may help if you need some extra uniqueness.
I guess most people overlook the TSX, because if they're going for luxury they probably want something bigger and more powerful?
People probably just think you're warning them about a cop.

I see a lot of 3-series also. And Audi is huge around here for some reason, I see them all over the place.

acura gave me a TL loaner,..... couldnt wait to get back to my 6spd tsx. Obviously it has good torque from the line, and its a nice car, but that in no way in my book was considered "sports sedan". SOHC vtec sucks.

where i'm at (flushing, NY), i see a few TSX's here and there. kinda always the same ones. there is a particular one that's always around main street flushing. PWP with full OEM body kit and spoiler, tints, red brake pads and one of those injen license frames (assuming he has a CAI under there).
i see a ton of TLs. mostly b/c i think a lot of asians, particularly koreans, have them.
so acura is pretty popular around these parts.

You guys should be lucky that you actually see other cars. Around here it's nothing but pickup trucks and SUVs. If it's not that, it's white panel work vans. Or box trucks. Ugh.
Of the few cars I do see, I might see 1 other TSX on my commute (24 miles round trip).

In Atlanta, i see maybe 3-4 TSXs per day. Maybe. There are alot more TLs, G35s, Accords, Camrys, Altimas and BMWs around here.. ALOT more. Which is why -- as tempting as it was -- i just couldn't convince myself to buy an Accord. They're everywhere. when i was washing my car last weekend, a neighbor came over to look at it because he had never seen a TSX, except for the occasional magazine review.
Previously, i had driven Accords since 1989 -- and no one ever said, "nice car! what is it?"

there are a few in vegas. not many which is surprising as there are 2 dealerships and city isnt that big.
i wouldn't call it a rare car but compared to a accord, camry or 3 series... there aren;t many
