What up all, long time lurker....first time poster. I've been on www.clubrsx.com for a while, but have been thinking about getting a TSX, I love them. I'm looking at a CG with Navi, and OEM Kit. I'll try to avoid the normal noob questions even though I feel it my duty on my first post to ask some kind of stupid question.
I have a 02 auto RSX now...I test drove a 6MT TSX, and auto TSX they both felt quick but, I was concerned with the acceleration. It felt quiet. I don't know if its because the RSX is just louder and the TSX being more refined. The only mod I have on my RSX is an AEM Cold Air Intake. Anybody know any 0-60 times or first hand experience on this? I don't necessarily want a car thats faster than my RSX, but I'd like to know the car I was getting was at least as quick. Comments?

Hi
You might try running a search for the time slips of various individuals on the forum. That should answer your question.

6MT Snob
I'll be nice to the noob...
6MTs have been rated at 6.9-7.5 0-60 and 5ATs have been rated 7.9-8.9 or so depending on where you read.

thanks, I''ll look at the slips. I'm seein now that its around a 16 sec 1/4 mile for auto TSX, and 15.5 or so for a 6MT. I never took my car to the track so I'd be hard to say. Thanks for bein nice. If I buy the TSX, I won't be a noob long.

I've driven a few rsx's that I got as loaners. I thought the RSX was noticably slower than the TSX. I was so happy to return to my TSX. It was not only faster but it drove much better as well.
04 remembrance
Well, generally 0-60 times vary from low 7 to low 9's. I know, it's quite a gap but it's hard to know the official 0-60 for the MT TSX in this forum.
From my tests, it took 7.8 seconds with an AEM SRI.

Decroded piece of crap
acceleration isn't everything... i've driven both, and the rsx is lighter on it's feet but suffers from ride quality. on long trips, the rsx gets pretty tiresome. the tsx has really great handling, but a lot better ride quality and refined. the motor revvs really easily and quiet too. you just watch the rpm go nuts when you step on it because it has more torque.
i love my tsx.
if you're looking for pure speed, you're looking at the wrong car.

What, me worry?

I test drove a 5AT TSX last w/e, and was shocked at my impression that it was gutless.Originally Posted by Scrappy125

But I am pretty sure that it was my impression only. I am comparing it to my 2000 Civic Si, which feels like a go-cart. Much louder exhaust note and engine noise, more aggressive Vtec, much smaller/lighter car, etc.
I pulled onto an empty highway, and after accelerating to what I considered was a 'normal' speed I glaced down to see that I was going over 95 mph!! (Salesguy had nervous smile!!)
So yeah, I think a large part is perception. This has not deterred me from my desire to purchase a TSX, since I am willing to sacrifice some perceived performance for all of the amenities and benefits of the TSX. And of course I will get the 6MT, which will no doubt enhance my overall experience even if performance is similar to 5AT.

That's my feeling exactly. I'm willing to give a little in the performance dept. since the TSX has such a wonderful luxury feel to it. Thanks all for the opinions.Originally Posted by DGH
