Angry Argh!!! My TSX got rear ended Friday night.

I got hit from behind this evening during rush hour. I was driving my TSX. I stopped at an intersection (75th St.) to make a right turn on to 59 near the Fox Valley Mall. I wait as other cars go by, then as I get ready to accelerate I get rammed by another motorist at over 10 mph. He tried to accelerate as well and hit me. The bumper of my TSX got scratched and my mufflers were damaged. Now I find that my TSX's bumper is pushed in a bit...argh!

The Aurora police came and wrote up a report. On Saturday, I am going to get the damage appraised. I took pictures of my TSX and the '02 Oldsmobile Alero that hit me with a disposable camera I had in a storage compartment. We exchanged information. The Oldsmobile had a right side broken headlight, other than that his car had no damage, wtf!?!

I will get those pictures developed this weekend.

What, you don't call it your princess got hit in the ass? j/k
I seem to remember the TSX fairing quite poorly in the 5mph bumper test. This is the real world outcome.

Sorry to hear about your car. Hope you're ok. Now I'm going to be a little worried since I'm heading towards that direction tonight.

Me too I'm heading there to visit my friend at North Central. My ex-gf used to live around the Naperville-Lisle area. There have always been crazy drivers around 75th.

Just one question, is our car hard to see from the rear? I'm just wondering cause some people are getting rearended. Do you think our taillights aren't that noticable enough and the reflectors on the bottom of the rear bumpers don't help?

Condolences. Was the Alero driver decent about it? That can keep a bad situation from being truly shitty.

The Alero driver was stunned and apologetic when he hit me. His State Farm insurance was legit. I hope nothing else happens and he says its my fault, which obviously isn't cuz he hit me!

I think the person saw me brake, but couldn't react quick enough and thought I was going to go. I don't see how he couldn't have saw me cuz my brake lights work fine and the lamp on the spoiler works fine.

Today, I called his insurance company to make a claim and took my car in to State Farm for damage inspection earlier tonight. The rear bumper needs to be replaced as well as rightside exhaust/muffler, and there are some "hidden" underbody damage you can't see unless you look under the car....over $1,500 worth of damage...argh!!!

Also, I don't trust State Farm's recommendation on repair shops. I heard they do really shietty job to keep claim costs low...those bastards! I don't want my TSX to have a wrong color bumper...argh!!! I am so upset!!!

I didn't suffer whiplash, the TSX's headrests are high and worked as they were suppose to.

:'(

the paint job on my rear bumper was very good. they put a real thick clear coat on the rear bumper and it made the rest of the car's jelous. i wish i could have told the body shop to put on another layer of clear coat on the car. HOWEVER, make sure your tailpipes are even when you get the car back (i'm not kidding).

but anyways, is it just me or are our cars getting humped in the ass more frequently?

I got rear ended on friday night too!! I was stopped at a traffic light, just sitting there and some kid slammed into me with his 1995 legacy. He bent down to answer his cell phone. My TSX only had scratches and a small ding in the tailpipe. His car was f**ked up. The hood was all bent up and his grill was laying in the street. Long story short he is paying for the damage

I didn't have much damage visible other than a bent rightside muffler, scratches, and dents in the bumper. Most of the damage was under the car and hidden unless you look under it. There was slight frame damage and such....argh!:'(
