Anybody use the Autolock?

Just wondering if it is a good security device to purchase. In theory it sounds great. It locks your break peddle and makes cutting either it or the peddle off much more difficult. Anybody use it or know if this is an easy device for a thief to circumvent?

I had it for the Type R. It works great.
Its a bullet proof "The Club" for the clutch. Its a pain the ass to take on and off though.

My girl uses it for the Evo now.

Used the autolock in conjuction with a steering wheel club...for a little extra peace of mind....although I know they can take it if they really want it.

hmm... i guess if you are clever enough you can drive away with your car by not ever using the brake pedal. to stop you can use a combination of engine braking and the e-brake.

or does the autolock work with the brake pedal fully engaged to begin with?

or are we assuming a automatic? then yeah putting the device on the brake would cause problems for thieves... i guess this device would go on the clutch pedal on a manual tranny.

for manual... its goes on the clutch so they can't start the car.

for automatics... it goes on the brake... they can start he car, but they can't get into reverse/drive b/c you have to step on the brake.

Amen ecsw!

With the immobilizer, casual thieving is a thing of the past with Hondas. And if you are up against a pro, well, they'll get your car no matter what you do.

Theives will take it if they want. I had a turbo Integra stolen recently. Also, someone got a Civic Si stolen, one that was equipped with alarm, fuel/starter cutoffs, the club, and TWO autolocks.

My feeling is that The club is a waste of money. If a thief wants the car he is going to take it. The Lock your taking about will only take an extra 17 sec to get through.

i thought the AutoLock claimed to be unbreakable. i know the club has been proven easy to get around, but how are car thieves getting around the AutoLock?

That car probably got towed, although maybe I just can't comprehend the speed at which a crook can get thru all that stuff. I do wonder how a thief gets thru an autolock, my best guess would be inserting a prying apparatus into the fork and bending it outward. I can't imagine any thieves sawing it.
