Any previous 6th Gen. V6 Accord Owners?
Wats up Fella's?
Just wondering if any of you TSX owners here own or previously owned a 6th Gen. (98-02) V6 Accord?
Just wanted to ask if you guys feel the TSX is any slower compared to the AV6?
Yes the TSX is a 4cyl, and the AV6 is a 6cyl. But they're both putting out roughly the same amount of power to the wheels.
The reason for asking, is because thats the car i'm coming from. I had a 2000 V6 Sedan. Now i originally wanted to move up in power (TL) but i like the looks of the TSX much better, so im going w/the TSX.. but i haven't gotten to test-drive it yet, and plus I forgot wat a stock AV6 drives like lol.. so I woudln't be able to fairly compare the two..
So for the people who have owned a 6th Gen. V6 Accord, please share w/me your opinions.. about both cars in comparison..
thanks!

I didn't own one, but last fall when I was returning home (Seattle) from San Francisco, I played tag with a V-6 sedan through the Siskiyous.
Up hill - down hill - around curves - at any speed, my TSX was notably quicker. I have a 6 MT so that may have had something to do with it.

Welcome to the club!
My previous car was an 01 Accord V6 coupe. There are certainly some differences between the 2 cars.
1) torque - the V6 has more pull from a stand still - but I hated the 'lag' from 2000 -3000 rpm
2) nimble - the TSX is certainly more tossable
3) manual - the 6MT on the TSX makes driving this car, far more enjoyable than the auto tranny of the accord. Plus, its easier to keep the revs within the max torque range (>3000 rpm). So, once you're moving, the TSX is quicker IMO.
4) speed - they're both very close

Previous 6th gen av6 coupe owner here also. I don't miss that car one bit, especially the handling. Performance-wise, I'd have to say my tsx is quicker, pulls much harder and outhandles the av6 by far.
Just for comparison-sake, my tsx is stock while the av6 had a comptech icebox, obx headers, comptech exhaust, UR SS pulley kit, eibach sportline w/tokico struts and a neuspeed upper strut bar. IMO, there really is no comparison.

Ahh.. exactly the answers I was looking for
Now here's my next question, do any of you regret paying a lot more money for a car that has basically the same amount of power? Or do any of you wish you had chosen something with a bit more pep to it?
thanks

Had a 98 EX Coupe.
1. Acceleration: Lazy straight line acceleration felt faster in the Accord. With the TSX you have to work at it: use the full rpm band and the TSX will be faster. Also with the 6mt you have much more control.
2. Looks: Accord Coupe front was OK, rear was very nice. TSX front is very nice, rear is OK. Overal, I think the TSX looks better
3. Handling: TSX no comparison -- I can easily do highway ramps (90 and 270 degrees) 20mph faster than with the Accord
4. Enjoyment: 6mt transmission makes all difference
5. Convenience: in addition to the convenience of the 4 doors, the TSX is actually bigger inside than the Accord Coupe, especially in the rear legroom and in the front headroom departments.
6. Comfort: About the same, but the TSX has more luxury features.
Overall: TSX all the way

Hey you guys better take care of Najeeb here . He's nominated for Ride of the Month over at www.v6p.net. I'm sure the TSX real pretty like his Accord.
