any fear of possible theft of our dear beloved TSXs

Hey guys, i'm a new owner (just got it saturday), but i've been on the site researching for the past couple months. great forum, due largely to all of you guys. I was just wondering if anyone has a big fear of their cars getting either stolen or broken into, or has anyone actually gotten their cars stolen. My car will be street parked for at least the next year, and i have a pretty big fear of it getting stolen, my neighborhood is pretty nice, mid-upper middle class suburb. My dad's all like, "a lot of people have been eyeing your wheels, you better be careful." and i'm like man, it's getting to me. Anyone have similar concerns? Thanks everyone!

No worries here. Sometimes I wish it would get stolen just so I could get rid of my negative equity Seriously though, they have pretty good factory alarms and our wheels aren't that rare.

Factory alarm? more like remote door locks.
Get an aftermarket alarm. You'll feel safer.

I know what you mean although Im more worried about my TSX getting a break-in than getting stolen. I had a friend with a 99' Accord that had his car completely robbed because he had a factory alarm that was easily disabled by the crooks prying open the hood and simply unhooking his battery. Haven't had a chance to test mine but I really hope Honda/Acura has since upgraded their factory alarm systems. I am most likely going aftermarket anyway.

First of all the only way to steal the car is by using a flatbed. The engine imobilizer will not let the engine start unless you have a key. Secondly, insurance comes in handy, so if your TSX gets stolen, you can just wait until the 05's come out and get a few extra goodies then (perhaps you should look into GAP insurance - which covers the term when the car is worth less than you paid for it, usually the first year of ownership). Thirdly, there are smart alarms you can get, such as a pager type device that will beep if your car is being messed with. You can carry it in your pocket or on your keychain...probably can get it integrated into a cellphone nowadays.

Anyone have a spare flatbed? I could use a 2005 model.

Thieves will find a way to steal a car if they want to get your car. I don't believe that there is a deterant that is 100% effective.

It's called insurance. I don't think twice about my car. It someone want so steel it bad enough they are going to... nothing you can do. It happens and yes it sucks.

I have the window etching and stickers (thrown in by dealer for "free").

Otherwise I thought that's why I'm paying a rather substantial "premium" for theft insurance!

I'm more worried about door dings.
