Added some LED drl's

Not bad for $60! Super bright and have lasted a month so far. Matches HID color very well.

Do you have daytime photos of where/how these were mounted?

How diffuclt was this for you? I'm new to cars and would love HID or LED DRL..
Anyone notice any problems with their battery after adding either vs. stock DRL?

Got the kit here.. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/univers...car-pair-45608

It is a chinese company. They might take up to 40 days to get to you but that is just to be expect from them. Mine took about 30. Good price though and they come with a driver, which is absolutely critical for long life.

I have had mine on for about 30 hrs with no issues.

No, LEDs are VERY good on battery life.

There are only 3 wire to hook up.
1 for ground (i used main battery ground)
1 for hot + (i used running light hot)
1 for cutoff. I did not hook this up, but the idea is that you turn on your low beams and the leds turn off. Frankly, i like them on so i didn't do it.

The only tricky part was the mounting bracket. The screws that go into the housing that hold the light at the right angle, SUCK. I drilled them out and put in larger threads and bolts and that worked well.

I did something similar last summer, then got pulled over by a cop saying it was illegal so I had to get rid of them. Now I've got the JDM yellow fogs which I will soon convert to HIDs..

To be honest I read the "Highway Traffic Safety Act" for Canada and it seemed to mention that "flashing blue and red lights" are not allowed. I figured plain blue LEDs that are not flashing would be alright, but I was wrong. Was fun while it lasted though.

P.S I've seen trucks on the road with blue LED strips on the front. I wonder if they get pulled over..

These seem cool but they shine so high. Can you aim them at all?

Nope...drls go all over the place. I think even the stock halogens are a flood light.

drls are just for other driver visibility. Getting seen, not illuminating the road.

The stock halogens are not flood lights... they're high beams... way different in that flood lights aren't aimed like high beams are. They are optically suited for a high beam application. This is also why they're not the best choice for DRL, but they'll suffice.

Optically speaking, the turn signals would be the best in terms of scattering light all over for DRL, but the only problem there is the plastic sockets will burn eventually.

The OP is a no-show. I mean how hard is it to post a few daytime pics.
