Acura OEM Car Cover

Has anyone bought the OEM car cover and used it outdoors in rain?
I live in NJ and dont have a grarage. I was planning on getting a car cover for my TSX, I would like to buy the OEM product rather than a generic cover.
If anyone has used it outdoors in rainy conditions please let me know how effective it is.

Thanks to all that reply!

I just ordered it myself a few days ago, so I'll be able to answer your question shortly.

I saw a nice "generic" car cover at Costco last night, for under $50!

Cover

I am using the OEM cover outside on a daily basis.
It is not water proof. Water will get through to the paint if that is what you are trying to prevent. I don't think there is any car cover out there that does this.
The cover is of a nice sturdy material but soft on the inside to protect the paint. Easy on and off also.

Good luck

you could also get it through the makers site. http://www.block-it.com/b_home.html

The three "oem" car covers I've seen were all exactly the same (besides car name and shape of course) and all made by
Kimberly-Clark. Acura. Mitsubishi, chevy.

I have an Acura car cover, but I haven't put it on the car yet. We got our first rain the other day--prolly the first in 8 months--but I don't know if I'll use it in wet weather. I wouldn't know where to stick a soggy car cover during the rainy season.

Does anyone know of a car cover that is waterproof and will keep the rain out? I need a car cover exclusively for outdoor use.

From what I've read, a completely waterproof car cover can be more damaging than one that allows a little moisture in and out. This could just be marketing hype, but it sounds plausible; unless the car is completely dry before you put the cover on, impurities trapped under the cover will cause damage to the paint finish.

I've read that too... even if the car was dry to begin with the theory goes that water on the ground will evoporate eventually and that water vapor will be trapped within the car cover.

i somehow doubt it can do more harm. also, when it's hot out, i prefer my car to be under covers... it's not like i'm worried about the rain only.

WOW, epic 7 yr old thread bump rofl. It's not that much of a hassle depending on the elements your car has to bare. I use it when it's going to be really windy and rainy since I have a lot of stupid branches and crap that hit my car. I use it when it snows or freezing rain in my area too. It's well worth the investment if you don't have a garage.

Try CaliforniaCarCovers.com I have the factory cover for my TSX and it definitely
lets dirt and water thru. I have the best/most expensive listed outdoor covers from Cal for my MR2 turbo and celica alltrac and they are WATERPROOF and dustproof. When I pull them off after winter is over the car is as shiney as when I put the cover on in the fall

Ony reason I dont have the cover for the TSX is that it stays in the garage since its my daily driver
