Acura 45-point check
Hey -
Did any of you get this mail from you're acura dealer about acura appreciationw week and a free 45 point check. I got it from my dealer.
Have any idea what do they check when they mean 45 point check. I am nearing my 10,000 mile maintenance and was wondering if I should use 45 point check to verify the brakes, wheel alingment etc. and if everything is fine, just get oil change as part of 10,000 mile service .
let me know you're suggestions.
Thanks for you're time.

A 45 point check probably just includes peaking under the hood to make sure the hoses and clamps are properly attached, fluids are topped off, then checking your brake pads, tire pressures, tire tread depth, and anything they can do pretty much visually.
Might be good if you just need someone to do a quick one-over on the car.

I didn't receive anything and even if I did, I think I'd laugh if they offered it to me. I can do a 45 point check myself and it would bring me to the same conclusion after 31k miles, everything is fine.

The point of the inspection is to get you in there, and if they find something wrong with it, then they'll get you to pay for something.
It's mostly visual though. Checking for leaks, fluids, etc...
Sort of like why they offer free "alignment checks".
They're probably certain that most people that get the "Check" will need one. That's why they can offer those free all day long.
